01 kia optima stalled wont start. Just clicks when you turn the key. Starter clicks, then stops, sometimes I get a little buzz sound with the click...Possible starter, or fuel pump?

Thanks, I just replaced the alternator a week ago, so I doubt its that, but I will re check to be sure it's charging properly Someone told me it could be the timing position sensor. That looks like a bit of a job though, and I cant afford the labor which is close to 300. so Im stuck trying to fix this thing myself. Any other ideas? My email is bluebandana19 at yahoo.

It seems the starter is playing up.First check if your battery is charged fully or try to jump start and see what happens. If the engine start then it's either you need a new battery or else you need a replacement alternator.Test using a voltmeter if the actual altenator is working. Finally the last option is the starter motor that needs changing or fixing...Hope this helps.

How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit

There is a starter relay located in the under under fuse box , the ignition switch energizes it sending B+ voltage to the solenoid on the starter .

2003 kia optima starting issues it will not turn over lights bright on dash and head lights are bright but it wont turn over

sounds like the starter motor has failed or could be the security system at fault if you have a spare key try that if the keys have transponder chips one key may have failed.i think its the starter motor, hope this helps

Car wont start

If the engine cranks the starter is doing its job.
You would need to check for fuel pressure at the injectors.
Its possible the pump was clogged up or overheated when you were driving it low on fuel. The gasoline keeps the pump cool and lubed.
The only fuel filter for your model is inside the gas tank.

Kia rio wont start all of the sudden not the battery

If you can hear a clicking sound when turn the key and your battery is charged, your problem could be starter or ignition key switch.

Check aftermark or antitheft system there.

Hi! my kia won't start. it just clicks. do i replace the whole starter or could it be just a switch? i see coolant that has made it close to where starter is....could this have shorted some circuit?

Check your battery charge and look for cable corrosion and loose connections at the battery. If these are good then it's a good chance the starter is dead. Try tapping the starter with a hammer while someone is holding the key in the start position. Please rate. Thanks

For the past couple of weeks my kia sedona has not started first time just a clicking noise when i turn the ignition key. Now it wont start at all. I have removed the battery and recharged it. but it hasnt...

soundss like a bad starter, use a test light on small wire going to starter, have somone hold key in the crank position if you get power to the small wire at starter then its a bad starter, hope this helps.

2005 Kia Optima that won't start, it keeps trying to fire but won't ignite, some people looked at it and think it might be the starter, trying to get an idea of how much this would cost to repair?

if it will turn over it is not the starter if turns over and will not start it is one of two problems not getting fuel or not getting fire. make sure there is fuel coming to the rail by pushing in on serator valve if equipped if not will have to disconnect the fuel line. this is a coil over ignition system remove one of the coils from the plug pull the plug out and ground it to something medal turn the key over and see if it sparks.
