Question about 2005 Ford Escape

2006 Ford Escape. The ABS light is on and 4WD light flashs.

The same problem started for me today on my 2006 Escape. The ABS light is on and my 4WD light flashes from time to time. There was no obvious reason for this to have started as I was just driving around town. Cleaning the sensors sounds like a good idea, so I'll give that a try..

It could be your ABS sensor ring. I had the same problem. I paid 6 bucks for the part and it took me a couple hours to do. Now the other side went!

2005 Ford Escape - have awd. When i encounter bad roads, the 4wd light flashes. It resets it self when i shut off the ignition; however my abs light has never come on and their were no error codes o

Usually it means there is a component of the system that is not working. It could be a sensor or mechanical problem.
You'll probably need to take it to a dealer or major shop to get it tested.

2006 ford escape.. #1. abs light on & stays on. #2. 4wd light comes on,flashes 8 times then gos off

Changing the sensors &/or tone ring may work temporarily but it won't last. I have a 2005 and have had it done and it kept happening. Had it serviced at dealer, asked dealer how to fix it or make light go out and on and on....after I think 5 yrs. it is still on. It hasn't affected my vehicle as far as I can tell. Comes on blinks 8 times, goes off....drive another 8/10ths of a mile and it comes back on, flashes eight times...and so it goes tidily bomMust be an Escape kinda thing.

2006 ford escape - abs and 4wd lights on yesterday - off today - brakes checked - ok - right turn makes grinding noise with slight application of brake -

the grinding nose you heard was something rubbing on the rotor, bad brakes, caliper, after market wheels, etc. the pressure of a turn bends something enough to touch, this is produceing metal flake that attached to the magnetic sensor on the abs sending a light on because it couldn't read the tire position as it turned, it may have got blown off, washed off, but when it can read the tire again the light will go off, i would look into the grinding noise on cornering thats the cause of the problem. hope this helps
