This must be a 2.3 miller cycle. it is going into "limp home" mode. when this happens, it wont rev over about 3k, and tcs off/tcs lites come on. it feels a lot like fuel cut. probably the check engine lite is also on, and what codes are stored? most common is P1525/26 and 1540, which are the solenoids that control the abv. the abv controls boost, and when this valve is not working proplerly, the pcm stops communication with tcm, and it goes limp home. if you can locate the solenoids, they are on the back of the engine, right next to the egr valve. from right to left, you need to look at the second and forth. you need to ohm them when they are hot. normal is around 26. if they are over 30, or 0, they are bad. there are other possibilities, but this is most common

Car wnt pick up speed

Your problem is a bit vague & the make & model on the car only says 2001 Honda Civic. A lack of acceleration can be a couple of things in any vehicle. It can be a sign of clogged fuel injectors...but the Civic's from the 90's to early 2000's were known for problems with stuck accelerators or rapid acceleration. Both these "defects" involved issues with the throttle plate & pads. In instances where the car seems sluggish & won't accelerate rapidly...a light oiling to the throttle & pads could be a solution; otherwise it's inevitable that you'll need slight adjustments at the mechanic.

2003 mustang when traction control light comes on the car lose power almost like shutting down, when it goes off it pick up speed.

The traction control system DOES cut your engine power when the tires spin. That is by design. The system cuts engine power to stop the wheels spinning and restores power once the wheels regain traction. It feels odd when the tires spin and power cuts out. It's good practice to lift off the accelerator when the system kicks in. Otherwise, if you are on gravel or slick streets the tires may spin, stop when traction control kicks in, and then spin again when power is restored. It is not an "elegant" solution but it does work for the most part.

Low traction light

sounds like failed wheel speed sensors. you can get around this by turning off traction control until you can get em fixed. If you hold in the the traction control button, it should shut the system down

1993 Mustang 2.3L Trouhble(again); It's slugish at accelerating from a stop(some times falling on its face and dieing), jerks at highspeeds when trying to accelerate, and has hard starts. Any help

All the above problems were happening to my truck, and the engine light never did come on. Finally changed the O2 sensor, and it runs like new again.

A yellow warning light like a wheel spinning. What is it?

This is a traction control light. It seems like your TCS is bad, or has a sensor issue causing the vehicle to retard the acceleration. The car thinks that it is losing traction, so It is automatically trying to compensate

I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette and the traction active light comes on and makes a growling noise when you begin to take off and turn the steering wheel. How do I solve this problem?

the traction control system watches wheel speed thru the wheel speed sensors. it was designed to aid in traction in slippery conditions. when one of the wheels loses traction and the system sees an abnormal insrease of speed in one of the wheels the system will activate and derate the power to avoid wheel slippage. going around a corner the outside wheel will spin faster then the inside wheel. under normal acceleration nothing will happen, however under heay acceleration you may be causing a wheel to break free, especially on wet roads. you could have a speed sensor problem but i would expect you would also have an antilock problem. try a slower acceleration around corners then try a heavy acceleration, if it was ok on normal acceleration but activated on heavy acceleration then your going to have to lighten up on the pedal a bit. otherwise the system should be scanned for codes. i never liked this system much and it wasen,t around too long. good luck!

98 oldmobile regency won't start up and check

Well the fact that the traction light came on and blinked off when taking off is a good thing, it just means that your traction control is working properly. When that light comes on it means that one wheel was spinning and that the car adjusted the speed of the drive wheels to compensate. The car not starting needs to be addressed as to whether the car is turning over slowly, clicking, or making no noise at all. The check engine light will remain on until the vehicle is started, so that does not correlate to your problem. If it clicks, or turns over sluggishly, then it just needs a jump start and a test of the battery. If the lights come on, but the car does not turn over al all, then you may need to look at replacing a starter.
