Sounds like a speed sensor is not letting the torque converter go into lock up mode. This condition will affect fuel consumption. Check OBDII for speed sensor fault.

Overdrive light flashes

By the sounds of it that could be the solenoid that operates the overdrive that has malfunctioned or there's a bad earth or a broken fuse - its electrical though that's for sure -- you may need to see a mechanic for that one unless your good at diy :)
Hope you get it going :)

Go to your nearest Auto Zone store and have them put their computer on your vehicle, to see what code comes up (IT FREE). They should let you know what the problem it...if not....let me know what the code is and I will let you know what is wrong..Hope this helps you ??

I have a 95 f250 powerstroke diesel, automatic, since yesterday the transmission has been slipping between 3rd and overdrive. the problem started while hauling a fairly light horse trailer and the...

You should not use overdrive unless you are steadily going highway speeds. I had one of those and my ex liked to use cruise control on windy coastal roads. This caused it to shift back and forth from 3rd to overdrive constantly. So I disconnected the cruise control so he couldn't use it. Lol. I'm not suggesting this for you. You should keep overdrive off for now and have your transmission serviced. New filter & oil & flush the cooler. Make sure you ONLY USE THE RECOMMENDED FLUIDS!!!!!!!!!! See if that helps. Do not use overdrive pulling a trailer and going up a hill and do not use it if you are on windy roads where you are slowing down alot of times. Try letting off the gas for a second when you do want to engage the overdrive. Remember to always check your automatic tranny fluid with the engine running and fully warmed up.

Overdrive indicator light flashes after five minutes drive. Nothing strange about the gear and the engine except that the overdrive blinking is annoying. The only way not to see the blinking overdrive...

This is indicating an issue with the transmission that should not be ignored. The flashing light was designed to annoy you into action. Waiting could cost you a lot more money. I would get the error codes by asking my local shop to get them, or many chain auto stores offer free code reading, just ask. I was at AutoZone a few weeks ago and got the codes, and they printed them off for me, in addition to recommendations as to the cause.
Best case scenario is just a reset is necessary (computer perhaps). You don't want to be stuck on the side of the road, so it's good to find out.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

the OD light is flashing to let u know a fault has occurred in the transmission electronic controls or that it is slipping plus other issues, go to Kragen or Autozone and ask them to run a trouble code test, it is free, post the code back here for me to look at.

1994 Toyota Paseo error code

Your light for the overdrive is probably flashing from the transmission shifting in and out of overdrive? But to your power problem,It could be your cataylitic convertor. You should have a check engine light on with a fault code associated with it.Manuf are all different but it should say, Cat efficiency below minimum which comes from the rear oxygen sensor. The only way for you to check would be to drop the exhaust forward of the cat and then drive the car around the block to see if the power returns. Sometimes if you take a rubber hammer and hit the Cat you can hear the broken material inside jumping up and down. One thing I would check first before replacing it is by govt standard it is warrantied up to 80k. call the dealer and run your VIN number they can tell you if it is still under warranty. Even if the car is not.Hope that helps..Mark
