Question about 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix
Try moving the steering wheel slightly to the left or right when your trying to turn the ignition key's. If that does not work try the second set of keys. At worst the tumblers has gone bad and the ignition cylinder needs to be replaced at the dealer so they can match the pass lock key's to your ignition switch. Good luck and hope this helps.

Be sure its all the way in park or try neutral. Its possible that security system does not recognize the key. Is security light flashing or on steady? Shut all doors and windows, trunk, hood, turn off all accessory's,roll down drivers window, turn key off and remove for at least 1 minute, insert key into ignition, try to start leaving key to run position for 20 minutes, turn key to off, wait 15 seconds, try to start again leaving key to run, wait 20 minutes, turn key off, wait 15 seconds, try to start, This should relearn key code. It may relearn after 1 learn cycle and start if system is ok. Hope this helps and that the weather is dry and warm for this procedure!.. i think this may solve ur problem..
thank u rate me!!!

SOURCE: i can't start my car
Your ignition sounds locked to me. Try turning the steering wheel hard to the left or right or tugging while you try turning the key. I bet it will unlock. The car isnt broken, its actually a safety feature.,

the tumblers in the lock set has dropped! This CAN be a easy fix just take your time.take the housing of from around it, at the bottom of the lock cylinder in the metal housing there is a pin the holds it into place you will have to drill the pin out and replace the old one.hope the info has been helpful to you!!
