I just had the a/c worked on my 2000 jeep grand cherokee. I replaced both the evaporator and the other hose as well. The a/c was working great. That night I went to town and the fan stops blowing?

Take the blower motor out, power it and if it works then change the blower motor resistor. If the motor dosent work when powered then change the motor.

Air condition only works on fan speed 4 speeds 1 2 and 3 do not work

Hi, assuming you have manual controls, it is likely your resistor has burned up, but the switch may be bad too. The resistor is next to the blower above the passenger's feet. You have to remove the panel under the dash and maybe the glove box too to see the resistor. It looks like the picture below with some wires plugged in. Pull the connector off and remove the screws. Pull the resistor out and inspect for heat damage. If damaged, replace and check the blower for proper operation. If the blower doesn't switch smoothly between speeds, you may also have a bad switch. A bad switch can cause the resistor to burn out again.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6234839-doesn_t_heater_or_air_conditioner_blow . These are generic instructions. Please get back to me with any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

1999 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo a/c electric fan not turning on.I've already replaced the relay, it worked for a very short time then it won't work again, water thermostat also has been change, no help.

There is a resistor mounted by the fan, this could have burned out. Look on passenger side right by fan motor should be 2 screews that have 5-6 wires pluged into it had to replace mine once fan only on high worth looking in too. Also, check if the blower motor Resistor Harness was faulty.

Good luck.

Need to know location of heater blower in my 2000 jeep cherokee sport my heat gets warm but the fans not blowing

Down under glove box. When it doesnt blow, rap on the motor with a wrench or hammer. if it tries to blow, or comes on, the blower is bad, replace it.

Blower motor not working changed the blower motor resistor fan still not working what is my next step

Make sure the switch isn't burned out. I have seen many switchs burn out literally which then takes the resistor out too.

The blower /fan doesn't work for heat/defrost

You have to change the resistor (little box that the blower wires goes to) it is held in with 2 screws you will need the harness (($15) as the factory one was a defect and last you need to change the blower motor as the factory one draws too much power and burns up the resistor and harness..this is what i did on a 2000 grand cherokee with the climate control and it works great..I tried to fix the harness etc but it will still go out again if you do the above you will not have any problem with the blower working at random it will work better than new.I think jeep has retards for electrical people, has anyone had problems with the junky taillight assembly??

If you have Automatic Temperture Control then you will need a blower resistor module which could be around $100 to $200. If you have a manual temperture control then it can be just a simple $20 blower resistor.

2000 cherokee sport blower motor control

It is a bad blower motor resistor and it is mounted on the bottom of the A/C heater housing on the passenger side of the vehicle under the glovebox area. Hope this helps. Please rate this a fixya if it helps. Thanks.
