I have a 2005 GMC Sierra. Afew years ago I started having trouble with the A/C fan. Found overheating at connections on control module. Jumped some wires and have every speed except highest. Was satisfied with that. Later was informed of recall for control module but never got around to taking it in. Recently, blower stopped working. At same time, cruise stopped working and "ABS" and "Brake" warning lights came on. Checked blower fuse and it was blown. Replaced with no effect. Took to dealer to have control module replaced. No effect. Have checked all fuses. Still no blower fan, no cruise, and "ABS" and "Brake" lights still on. Dealer has no clue. What now?

Diagnosis and replacement of a faulty blower resistor assembly along with updating the seven wire harness connector. this repair applies to 1999, 1500 series Silverado and Sierra. 2000-2007 Chevrolet Avalanche , Classic Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe. 2000-2007 GMC Sierra classic and Yukon. it is also very similar to 2002-2009 Envoy and Trailblazer. Take a look here on how to test this.

Is this the manual HVAC system CJ3 or the CJ2 automatic HVAC system.

For ABS and Brake light being on you need to see what codes are stored , if any ! Auto zone can do this for free. Has nothing to do with the blower fan not working !

Check the relays and under hood fuse panels. Looks like your cheap attempt to get around computerized system and not making time to deal with the recall has come back to bite you in the butt.

did u check that they not burn?if not you should Check the wires going into the steering column if you don't have separate turn signal lights and brake lights because if they use the same bulb then the turn signal may be bad. If I remember correctly that particular car doesn't work this way, but I include it just in case.

SOURCE: 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup. Windshield wipers, Cruise Control

May want to look at replacing the wiper circuit board. It is located on the firewall adjacent to the wiper motor and has a some what square black cover with 3 torx screws and wireing harness pluged into the side.We had a truck that every time you washed it the wipers would stay on until it dryed out.You can try removing it and spaying it down with contact cleaner just watch the brease on the two contact tips.Well hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1998 GMC Sierra. Blower

could it be the blower motor it self? sometimes they have a "bad spot" when it is not working, can you hit it and make it run? pretty common on these trucks. the switch is also common. they often melt at the connector on the back making a bad connection. i would double check the motor first.

SOURCE: I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 EXT cab. In early

I would get the fan motor itself checked out. #5 position is where the current goes straight to the motor, that being burnt out indicates a burnt motor to me, or the resistor is fried. But I think the resistor is either in the motor or the controller, so either way, do check the fan.

You probably have a trouble code stored in the engine computer for a faulty transmission selector switch. The engine computer thinks the trans is in 3rd gear and not park. Or it really could be stuck in third gear.

What would cause the body control module on my 2005 gmc Sierra lt 1500 to go bad? Any ideas?

Sometimes they fill with water or accumulate moisture. Life span varies on these things. Some last forever, some die in a few years. Seems to be a common GM problem

2005 gmc sierra heater fan quit working. I lost the fifth speed months ago and a couple of days ago lost the other four, the first day the fan would come on sometimes while driving then quit after a while...

1-4 speed are the blower motor resister . It controls all 1-4 speeds, also it's under the passanger side dash around fan, the 5th speed runs off a fuse the is located in the fuse box. It's one of those square fuses , not the relays but fuses. The resister will run $15 and fuse $5 . Good luck. I have replace these before

I changed the termostat on my 2005 gmc sierra and now it overheated please help

Thermostat is possibly installed wrong/backwards, defective, or you have a large air bubble in the engine. After you changed the therm you must run the heater ( fan on low) to help purge extra air. Hope this helps. Good Luck
