Question about 1996 Ford Windstar
1996 Ford Windstar 3.8 v6 with 130,000miles. Engine runs rough in hot humid weather (did not do this during a could spell we had here in central Florida). Mechanic ran a diagnostic and said cylinders 1 and 3 were misfiring. Did a tune up with new plugs and wires, replaced coil pack, fuel system rail cleaner and cleaned egr ports. Still running rough and now temp gauge shows running hotter til fans kick on. Engine light has been on since this all started. Any ideas? thanks
DIS ignition, no distributor to " get in there " with....

Now you have to change the Distributor pronto.
The optical sensor is dirty and or the distributor bearing is shot. The timing is of and it is misfiring , probly your cat is red hot too and O2 sensor is confused
You can go in there( distributor) and clean the black brown dust on the disk for a temporary operation. Vitally
