Question about 2000 Hyundai Accent
Transmission intermittently changes back to third gear for no apparent reason. sometimes from rest tries to start off in third gear, but can be shifted to 1st gear manually. G/B is serviced regularly has approx 100k on the clock. Other electricals also intermittent are w/s washers front and rear and alo interior light, cd player. Fuse box loooks clean and no apparent loose wiring anywhere. Gear box intermittent problem. comes and goes.
Here it is, you may have a worn rail in the gear box shifter parts, many times these loose parts will allow the trans to get into the wrong gear or try to go into 2 gears at once, replace the shifter parts inside the trans and I will bet the issue goes away.
