Question about Subaru Outback
My car is a 1999 Subaru Outback Station wagon. We had the rear struts replaced last summer. Just recently the car is make a grinding sound on sharp turns. When I go to park the car or pull a u-turn it is difficult to make that sharp turn and the grinding sound is very prevalent. Any ideas???
Two things you must address, first the tires may need rotating, 4WD cars need all tires to be close to the same size or conflicts in gearing occur, second change the oil in the rear axle this can cause noisy operation.

Under the arch at the top of the spring the plate that sits against the car body is in the rong place it needs to be turned to stop the top mount from hitting the car body.i had the same problem on my impreza!!!the grinding sound came at about 40mph.so i turned the top mount clock wise so there was a gap between the top mount and the inner arch/wing no more problem.
