There is a code that can be provided by the dealer. If it is not accepting the dvd at all, the player may have shorted out.

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Here's a link to this great service

Good luck!

My husband has just fitted a new dvd player in our 2003 Discovery 2,But it is saying invalid region. He bought the dvd from Ebay & I was sent from the USA.Do we need some sort of reset code??

DVD players designed for the US are set for Region 1 and cannot be used with DVD's that are from other regions such as Great Britain and most of Europe which use Region 2 DVD's . What you need is a "Region Free" player which plays all regions or a player that plays your specific region. We live in the US but watch many British DVD series so use.a Region Free player as they are Region 2 and we are in Region 1.

maybe you can return the player or at least get some sort of credit for it towards the correct region player. If you are unsure of your region, just Google it.

My Honda Odyssey 2007 dvd player wont play. The player keeps saying loading then it will either eject the dvd or read error. The battery never died and I've tried different dvds, none of them work.

its probably dead.
a tech, ,opens the drive and cleans it , in the hope it come back.
looking for , junk (labels) in the drive. broken disks , parts inside
or dust on optics, cars are dust magnets, so.......
if it's not something easy, most replace it. it's cheaper that real repairs.
but all can be fixed in any pro electronics shop and all parts can be had. parts + labor can hit $200 easy or more,
id up grade to USB memory stick Headend radio
and use them, an never DVD again, they really are obsolete now.
really. id move up.. 1000s of songs on one stick, no more scratched skipping or dirty disk.s
DVD is dead, (first run movies excepted, but VOD is killing this)

How can I play all DVDs on the DVD player?

The DVD player maybe locked to a region, to make the player regionless so it can play DVDs from any region the player need the firmware changed.
But if you make a mistake then the player will be a piece of junk.
These WEB sites shows how to Unlock DVD Players - Region Free Code

I have a 96 infiniti I30 and my battery recently died bc I left my lights on one morning.. after I got a jump I noticed that my cd player goes on..but will not recognize the disc that is In there already,...

I suspect your cd play needs you to enter a security code. You should look through the documents that came with your car for a hand written 4 digit code on the owners manual perhaps.

Dvd player not working on 06 Honda Odyssey

The Honda dealer just wanted to replace my entertainment center without even troubleshooting and I wasn't convinced that it was "broken" so I found the FIXYA website and saw that others had the same problem and I followed their instructions and it now works fine. I am going to call the Honda dealer to complain because they should have known this.

We simply pulled the fuse out and put it back in and then reset the radio code!

DVD player in honda odyessy won't eject disc or play

the first thing to check is the fuse associated with the dvd player. If it is blown then that is probably your problem. The fact that it blew means there is an electrical short somewhere that will need to be fixed. Otherwise, you will continue to blow fuses. If it is not blown then pull it out for 30 seconds and replace. Then try to operate your DVD.

KIa Sedona Battery Problem

mike , if you have and can use a digital multi meter with amps , disconnect the negitive battery cable , set your multi meter to dc amps , connect it inbtween the battery neg cable and the battery neg post on battery , we are looking for a draw of over 30 miliamps , that is acceptable . keep the car doors closed while doing this test , under the hood find the fuse box and start pulling fuses 1 at a time , note any decrease in draw , lets say you hook up meter and see 300 miliamp draw , not acceptable , pull a fuse and wait for a moment , if no decrease reinstall that fuse and go to the next , if by pulling all fuses you haven't found the problem circuit , the altenator is a good sourse of drain sometimes , disconnect all the wires to the altenator , note any change . remember 30 miliamps is acceptable on a kia. post results when done .

cheers , you found the problem circuit , will you continue diagnostics or call it fixed ?
