It seems you did not do a proper bleeding..Make sure all the end connection are locked at some point else there will be no pressure build up.Also check the brake level when bleeding and do not allow it to go empty..If you can't get any pressure then check the master brake cylinder which may need repair or replacement.

How can I adjust the parking brake on my 2002 GMC Sierra HD

Umm... I could be wrong but... the 2002 GMC 2500 has rear *disc brakes with an interior set of *drum brakes for the E brakes. check with your dealer because there was a recall on the E brake for some early 2000 GMC trucks. also there is a manuel adjuster for the parking brakes.

pull the caliper mounting bolts, hang it from a clothes hanger, compress the piston to make room for the new pads, put every thing back like it was, check brake fluid. (open bleader on caliper when compressing piston.)

you either have air in the brake lines, a cracked brake line, or low of brake fluid... either way you will need to bleed the brakes

have you had the brake pads changed recently?

Look up under dash where brake pedal pivots, you should see a switch that is activated by pedal arm.

2002 GMC Sierra 1500 rear brakes

Hi joelalthomas, if they replaced your brakes and you never even made it home they had better warranty the work and as for the "it was a common problem on 2002-2004 trucks" well check for Chevy recalls as this is a safety issue that would have been corrected at no expense to the vehicle owner, do a little more research my friend and let me know what happens, I will check around a little as well in the meantime I would find a new garage.Do not pay any more as you said your brakes worked fine until they worked on it good luck to you As for your 4x4 did you look at the left side when you did the right side? and were they bled off properly? you can visually check to see if the calipers are functioning
