Some of the alarms have a built in fuse you could pull out while others get power through a fusible link. I would suggest finding out how the alarm is receiving it's power and disconnect it from power..

Put a new battery in my 97 jetta gt alarm went crazy finally got alarm to shut off by unlocking passenger door but now my car won't start or turn over how do I fix

You surged the electrical system. Had a 97 Golf that did the same and had to be towed to the dealer for a reset. They disconnect the battery again and had to reset everything plus probably replace a few fuses. I'd start with fuses connected to your starter and engine systems.

97 jetta doors won't lock

I assume the doors can be manually locked. The problem is in the electrical circuit. That means anything from a faulty switch (the lock / Unlock button) to a loose connection. If both switches don't work then look for a blown fuse. If one switch works and the other doesn't than remove the switch and inspect its connection. If it's ok then check the switch. If both switch and connections are OK then you'll have to remove the door panel and access the lock mechanism.

My 98 jetta wont start because the alarm is still armed. and i unlocked all the doors but still isnt shutting off. and the car wont start unless the alarm is disarm. how do i just take the whole alarm out....

ok so the same thing just happened with my jetta. So heres what worked for me: take off the door panel (drivers side) and you should see some melted or bunched wires together. just snip them and leave them be. It was either the wires or the sensor that messed everything up. This should work.

it sounds like one of the sensors for your alarm is faulty. I'd recommend taking it to a reputable mechanic, or calling one to see what they say. The alarm systems on 97 Jettas are tricky business.

97 jetta GT alarm won't let car start. how can i disable?

If you not good with a wrench don't try to remove it. I am not sure but you can try two different things one lock and unlock the driver side door about 3 time then put the key in the ignition and try to start it, someone else said to remove one of the battery cables wait about twenty min. or so and replace it and try. If you do have to have the guy fix make sure he takes it out and gives it to you.

ALARM SYSTEM PROBLEM 2002 JETTA GOES OFF WITH NO REASON - TOTALLY UNPREDICTABLE

there is a known problem with the window control units, the door central locking works through these, unfortunatley it has to go on to the diag machine to find out the cause of activation, which is in guided functions on the vas 5051 machine and may come up with a rotary latch fault this usually means a new window motor
