Hi from uk not too sur if this relates to your vehicle ? however on many uk cars there is a trip switch fitted to the fuel delivery system which operates if car is involved in impact / it trips and shuts off fuel delivery to prevent leakage and/or fire ? usually fitted near bulkhead in engine bay but may well be inside car probably behind panel/s in one of front footwells as in some uk models? fords such as granada/sierra's were in boot area check out handbook for such switch? if fitted you will just need to press to reset ?hope this helps?

I have a 92 mustang lx 2.3 and it won't start. There is no fire at the plugs, and I can't hear the fuel pump kick on. The reset on the fuel pump is not popped out, so it is good. Any help woul

I would check the EEC relay and the fuel pump relay for power and ground signals first. Both circuits are controlled by the ignition key switch. The fuel pump should be powered for 3 seconds when you turn the key on.

My 1992 chevy g20 van surges and i'm not sure exactly why. I changed the pcv valve, fuel filter, spark plugs, and air filter. What are some possibilities

My first thought would be a vacuum leak in one of the hoses. Rubber hoses get brittle with age and even a small crack in a hose may cause surging. Happened to me in a Lumina.

My 1991 jetta won't start,,,fuel pump good,,,getting spark,,,,plugs are wet when I check them after trying to start,,,,injectors ohm good,,,any ideas?

If the plugs are wet, it may be flooded. Try leaving the plugs out until they dry, then, reinstall and try again.

92 VW Jetta ran great one day and wouldn't start again. Daughter ran it out of gas, changed the plugs, put gas and gas line anti freeze still nothing. thinking fuel filter, are there 2 filters? and where...

First, you should Make sure that is the problem. Usually if your filter is clogged enough to kill the car, if you wait 10 to 15 minutes the car will restart. The fuel will eventually seep thru the filter. You more likely have a relay or fuel pump problem if it is fuel. Try removing the air filter and spraying carb cleaner into the intake, if it is a fuel problem, it will start. If it is a spark problem it will not. Most vehicles have a filter inline about half-way between the tank and the engine underneath the car. If you jack the car, trace the 2 lines from the fuel tank tds. the engine. There will probably be a cover to protect the filter.

If you're car has been running fine, then suddenly won't start, the cause is frequently that the fuel pump cutoff has been tripped. Open your trunk, and look for a label for a fuel pump cutoff switch. Locate the switch, press it in, and see if the engine will start.
