Question about 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee
1993 grand cherokee, V-8, 5.2 engine. dual port injection, 204000 miles. I would be driving either on city streets or the expressway and all of a sudden the engine would just stop. At first it would restart with no problem but now it ranges from 10 minutes to get it started to not starting at all for a couple of days. Installed a new battery several months ago and last month while doing a rear brake job i decided to replace the fuel filter. I have had a couple suggestions ranging from the fuel pump to the crankshaft sensor, or the throttle position sensor, or the manifold absolute pressure sensor. I dont have the money to replace eveything or to take it to a garage so any help would be greatly appreciated.
You might be able to test your fuel pressure the next time it dies to see if its the fuel pump, there should be a port on the fuel rail on the engine.
