I continuously check my oil levels and they are good. That is why I changed the oil pressure switch. I recently had my oil changed and verified oil levels and yet with a new pressure switch the oil light still comes on.

You have low oil pressure, don't drive this until the problem is fixed unless you have around $5000.00 for a new engine..

2.7 ? This motor has oil problems if not changed every 3000 miles. Put a chrysler filter on it and the correct weight of oil, never use a fram oil filter.

Sounds like bad oil pressure switch. Is the engine making any loud noise(s)? I'd replace oil pressure switch and/or check connection at oil pressure switch.

Has he fitted the correct pressure switch. You need one that goes open circuit under pressure, unlike brake system switch that goes short circuit when under pressure.

Anytime the oil light goes on, I would think that the pressure has dropped, assuming the oil sending unit is working properly.

How long ago was the engine oil changed?
I had a low oil pressure signal in a 1997 Cadillac Deville LImousine which went away after I had the engine oil changed.

Sometimes, the wrong viscosity or oil break down can cause the oil pump not to generate enough pressure for the oil pressure light to go on.

I looked at the Recalls for the 2.7L engine and couldn't find anything regarding engine oil pressure light going on mistakenly, but this doesn't mean that it's not a problem on your vehicle. There are 2 other sized engines for this vehicle.

So, what's the engine size for this Chrysler Sebring?
Does the engine smoke at all after all of this?

Could be a bad oil pressure switch, or a bad oil pump. Both will cause this issue. Hope it is the switch b/c the oil pump is a costly repair.

My oil light keeps

You need to have oil pressure checked manually with oil pressure guage. There is a good possibility that the engine has excessive wear or a bad oil pump and oil pressure is really low. (It's like have a bad heart) That would definitely trigger oil light. If you have low pressure and its not taken care of immediately it will ruin the engine from lack of lubrication to vital parts. Good Luck contact me if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA
