some thefts of cars can be done using a tow/pickup truck by lifting the rear of car and towed away to which any person/s seeing this would simply think it is a broken down car? so keys not needed till later convenience ? this happens in uk and if rear wheel drive too ? alarms are a deterent but only if factory fitting ? if you park with steering lock on and wheels turned this makes another obstacle to overcome ?

They may have just towed it away!!! This happens many times.

Car thieves now understand that if a vehicle, like VW, has immobilizers they cannot steal it without the key. So if they really want the vehicle they will just tow it away

My sequoia 2005 master key was stolen, how can I start my car again I just have a key to open doors?

You have to talk to your local dealership. The vehicle may need to be towed in and the dealership will make you a new key. Call first. You may just be able to take in your title and have a key made.

I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

2005 vw beetle convertible trunk wont open

Before you take it to a shop, pop the hood & locate the relay center under a plastic cover. There may be a relay for the trunk solenoid that is bad. murf427

CD stuck in player after an accident. Got it removed, and tried a CD again and it became stuck. Just had it removed again and now no CD will go into the player. Also, since the accident, the window on...

the cd transport mechanism is plastic when it breaks its f..... you will have to replace it, far as the window is concerned, put the key in the door and unlock the car holding the key over will lower all windows, then lock the car and hold over the key,the windows will go up.(that resets the windows and SHOULD reset door rollback.)if not its a computer brain reset.

My trunk won't open on my 2005 Beetle Turbo Convertible, with the key or the release on the door. Can it be a fuse? The lights flash, but won't open.

Check inside the trunk, there should be a switch. It MAY be the switch is set not to open by remote. Once flipping the switch, it should work fine.

Hope this helps, Good luck!

A/c went pop and hot air started pouring out.

Possibly compressor belt broken. Maybe sudden loss of coolant gas. Fix bad part and recharge.

There's a flashing light on my dashboard, it's an orange light outline of my Beetle with a key in it. Please can you tell me what this means?

That symbol stands for Electronic Immobilizer. Here's a summary of what the manual has on it... When the ignition is switched on, an automatic key data test takes place. The data test is confirmed when the warning light illuminates and then will turn off after approx 2 seconds. However, if a non-authorized key is used, the warning light will blink continuously and it says the engine will not start.

Beetle wont start due to imbiliser light flashing

try another key , if it does the same with all keys it will need to be towed to dealer to have them re-coded. but that is what the light is saying that the computer doesn't recognize that key as it's own and thinks it is being stolen. hopefully it is just the one key and another one will let it work and save a tow bill.
