Why won't the gauges on a2003 ford crown Victoria work

Just recently had problem with head lights

Check the dashboard fuse in the fuse box.

when you hold the accelerator does the vehicle stay running? if so the problem is in ithe IAC idle air control motor, take a small screw driver and using the handle tap the iac motor and usualy the motor will kick in and the vehicle will run fine then if the problem is rectified replace the IAC

you may have checked so far

Did you test the battery?

Is the battery 6 years old,that you would know.

Are the cables corroded or loose?

Does the starter solenoid click,that could be bad
or the starter it's self

What about the head lights or any other power

Try Replacing Location 1 (15 amp fuse ) or Location 2 (5 amp fuse).

Engine light on coolant light on. Machine test gave a code 1299. 1999 ford crown victoria.

the DTC P1299 is "Cylinder head over limit protection" It cam one when your coolant light did to warn you the moor got to hot. Check your coolant level then make sure your thermostat and fans are working properly.

it is more than likely the lcm (lighting control module) under the dash above the gas pedal two 7mm screws and two plugs that is the most common problem

your head gaskets are bad, this is the only thing that will cause this problem.
