Problem for BMW 2002 5 Series

AC blows warm air when it rains

By llc912 on Jul 02, 2009

It also happens when I am in the car wash and the underneath gets wet....so water hits something under the car and causes the AC to blow warm air.

Once it stops raining or has time to dry....the air is freezing cold again.

strange.

It sounds as if you have an ambient temperature sensor that is either shorting out when it gets wet or either the water is acting like an insulator and sends an incorrect reading to the body control module. You may want to contact BMW to the specific location on your particular year and model. As location will vary with model and year.
