Question about 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan

1 Answer

ECM Corrosion Was told that the ecm had corrosion according to the error codes that were pulled. How can I test the connections to the ECM to make sure all is good. Was told to do this before purchasing the new computer from autocomputerexchange.com. Told me to test all the pins, but how do I do that?

You look for a white powder on the connections and pins with a greenish tent, if that is present you must replace the harness and the PCM

My 2000 F150 just passed emmsion 2 weeks ago let my son drive it started to run bad cheek engine lite came on codes were P0743,P0755,P1747,P0443,P1451,P0135,P0141,P0155,P0161and P1409?Help

with that many fault codes each one with an ECM as a possible cause , I suggest that you check items like battery voltage and charge rate, ground wires and terminals , harness connections at the ECM for water and corrosion
or substitute the ECM with a know serviceable unit to see if the fault codes come back

My Honda Accord 09 keeps giving hard start. Diagnosed wit p0603 kam error.

code p 0603 refers to engine control module (ECM)--Kam error==causes --ECM
it also refers to system voltage ---malfunction===causes ---wiring,-- poor connections-- battery---alternator
before you race out to get an ECM unit have the following done
have a load test done on the battery
have an accredited auto electrician check out the alternator and regulator
check the drive belt for condition and tension
check the plugs connected to the ECM have no moisture or corrosion present
check the battery terminals and battery posts are shiny clean and tight
What the code is referring to is insufficient voltage to work the ECM properly then a possible ECM fault

ECM or alt Hey Randy sorry it is a 2000 mpv and alts for 2000 MPV's are externally regulated according to the parts houses

Then it could be the ECM. You first need to check wiring and plugs for corrosion. You'll need a volt/ohm meter and a wiring schematic. ECM's are costly and then need programmed to the vehicle.

Error code P0351 and P0353

could be a ecm issue. if you pulled this code and replaced the coil, most likely it is resistance from the ecm to the coil. its either going to be an expensive fix or a timely fix. you can get a resistor tester and trace wires and find the resistance and replace that or get another ecm and see if that fixes the problem. check the connectors for any corrosion as well

My 1986 300zx non turbo injectors on pas side not working have power both wires and can ground signal wire and they will fire not getting ground signal could this be computer related

That wire from injector to ecm is the grounding side of the circuit. The computer grounds the circuit inside when it is time for the injector to open. Not sure but I think all three wires on pass. side splice into a single wire going to the ecm. Check the continuity of the wires from pass, side to ecm. Any corrosion on the ecm pins?
Am I understanding right that you have power to both banks of injectors, but only one side, or bank, is firing? If it's not a wiring problem, it could be the computer.
