The oil pressure sending unit has gone bad and needs to be replaced. There not that expensive and you can pick it up at Auto Zone, they can also give you the step by step instruction to get the gob done with common tools. I believe the sending unit is to the rear and passenger side of the distributor. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted,  be glad to help oh and check the wire harness first, it may have corroded off.

Either your oil pump (inside the engine oil pan) pressure relief relief valve is stuck or the oil press gauge sender is defective. Oil press gauges themselves very seldom are the problem

Dipstick go

make sure,to start, you didn't put the wrong dipstick (transmission or oil)in. Try,if the correct dipstick, removing the stick all the way out then twist so it faces the other way then ease it into its fullest making sure the end where you hold it from goes all the way too.

99 f-350 super duty 4x4 v10. oil pressure gage reads 0 starts and will idle. rev it up it backfires in notwr somewhere

Sounds to me that it has jumped it timeing. This will make you not have any oil pressure and will also make it back fire. You will need to replace the timeing chain and inspect the gears to see if they are worn. And if the show signs of wear change them. You only want to do this onec.

Oil leak in my 92 jeep cherokee

The most likely place for an engine to start leaking oil (when it's coming from the top and not the bottom) is around the valve covers -- the gasket goes bad. Next most likely is camshaft seals.

Sometimes just tightening the valve cover botls will stop it or at least reduce it.

Oil pressure gage at 50

if pressure is higher than what it normally is after an oil change, you may have used the wrong grade of oil (too thick). Foam could be from overfilling, or from water in the oil (maybe antifreeze getting into the oil?).

Oil pressure gauge

This is most likely a sending unit problem or a poor ground to the guage, try the sender first.
