Since your truck does not use a rack and pinion steering gear it is most likley your problem is low pressure from the power steering pump, u can have this pressure tested by a shop or u can just replace the pump and hope that cures the problem, u didn't supply very much info on this, so this is and eduacted guess.

here is the part number from www.rockauto.com
ACDELCO Part # 36717108 (REBUILT PUMP) PRICE $78.79
AC Delco rebuilt parts are very reliable, discount parts stores like Kragen are not.

This happens to most power-steering cars when you park your car and the wheels are not pointed straight ahead. When you turn off the car the centering device in the car steering locks hard against steering wheel lock. You have to pull the wheel hard in one direction or the other while attempting to unlock the steering.

Hard steering

It is normal for a car without power steering to be difficult to turn the wheels when the car is stationary or at very low speeds. Once you are moving above say 10 mph the steering should be fairly easy.

Seems to me like it may be the steering rack assembly! I had to replace mine a few months ago, after I changed the pump because it was cheaper to do. Hope this helps.

Steering wheel is very hard. dtc1555 vehicle model: lexus is250 4wd

Well the only thing that can make the steering wheel hard is a broken power steering pump belt, or if you ran out of fluid, this happens only if you have a hydraulic power steering,But if you have an (EPS) which means Electronic Power Steering. Then that could be an electronic problem that you should talk to your dealer about because your car seems to be under warranty still and you don't wanna play with it until you see what they say about that. Good luck

Hard to steer when standing still.

Check up the steering system fluid and top up if necessary. Inspect the steering hydraulic system for leaks also. If you will find oil leaks repair & replace damaged pieces.

If its the electronic unit, check the main fuses near the battery, also check the wiring connectors at the powersteering pump for loose or corroded plugs. If alls ok,you will need a diagnostic machine to read out what trouble codes are in the units memory.good luck.

Steering wheel seems kinda hard to turn. and makes weird noise.

Well if its not leaking and the oils up and the pumps not making any noise, its probably the hydraulic ram that actually makes the steering easy. The seals inside the ram have probably blown out. If you can take it apart u should be able to get replacement seals, but u should be able to find one at a wreckers. Hope this helps!

Steering problem

check your power steering belt. it may have broke or slipped off the pulley. if it seems ok check your fluid level. if it is still at normal operating level for hot or cold then your power steering pump may have just seized up and you may have to replace it.
