Question about Dodge Caravan

1 Answer

Hello i am looking for proper instructions to change a motor in my 1994 dodge caravan. I am mechanically inclined and have lost my job so money to a mechanic sadly is not a possibility. i have changed many rear drive motors and trans in cars that were carberated and i sadly need to do this myself .. any direction in gettin proper instructions would so very much be greatly apprecated. The motor is a 3.0 and i do have another that works fine.

I would try going to local parts store and buying a haynes manual. I have had good luck with them changing out engines. Not a complete step by step but pretty close.. Lots of pics too.. May be able to find one cheaper on EBAY or craigslist. Let me know how you make out..

Replace serpentine belt on dodge grand caravan

If you are mechanically inclined and have the right tools, buy an owners manual where you buy the replacement belt and follow instructions. There is a belt tensioner that is a critical part of the process. If you don't have the skills or tools, get a couple of quotes and have it done at a reputable shop. Most likely should cost less than $125.

Rear seal- 1994 dodge caravan. 3.3 liter V6 automatic

Well to change out a rear main seal on any engine isn't an easy task on that one through a shop probabley 6 hours of labor or so,shop rates vary but I would say labor alone to be at least $250.00-$350.00 and for the seals and gaskets probabley $50.00-$75.00 so if a shop does it your bill should be about $300.00 min.and $425.00 max.

Blower motor not working in the front, have had resistor replaced prior to this when the heat would only work on high. That problem was only alleviated for a few months, now no blowing at all from the...

If you are mechanically inclined and have patience for first time projects. The blower motor should be up under the dash behind the glove box, some are enclosed with the heat and ac and require dash removal,I know this from Dakota trucks but I am not 100% for the newer vans.It might also be under the hood on the passenger side firewall.
In any case it usually involves removing cosmetic panels and unless you know where the screws and clips are it will take time to find them or you could do what one of my friends did and use a crow bar but his van doesn't look so good anymore RedGreen would be proud of the use of duct tape.
