Sometime the ignition switch will cause this problem, a condinuity test is recomended to ensure the contacts are not engaged when key position is off.

Why did my 1999 Izuzu Rodeo died out of the blue now wont start?

Galant wont start

Interesting, this sounds just like no output from the alternator. If the alternator is good then it has to be the cabling or connections to the battery. If you have a multimeter take a reading on the cabling then read what is actually reaching the battery posts.

Where is the Alternator fuse on my 1999 Cougar v6 2.5l?

its built into the alternator. have you checked the voltages on the battery before starting the vehicle, then checking the voltage with the engine running, with engine running it should be around 14 volts with out engine running it should be about 12.06 v or higher. anything 12.04 v or lower there is a problem with the battery or there is a short somewhere and thats draining the battery.

Car wont start no lights and batterie is dead . jump it and it starts right up

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You need to make sure the battery is holding a proper charge. Clean the terminals and clean the post. You could have a weak alternator draining your battery. You can test it by starting the car and unplugging the hot side battery terminal once the battery is charged. If it dies instantly, your alternator is bad. You may need a new battery.

My car wont turn over i was told it was the alternator, i just replaced the battery 2 months ago but now it wont start again. is there a fuse for the alternator

The alternator is never the reason for a car not turning over, unless the battery is low. If the car will jump start, remove the cables and check the voltage at the battery while the car is still running. If the voltage is less than 14 volts, take the alternator off and have it tested at the parts store. If the voltage is good, the alternator is fine, and it should be charging the battery.
If the car will not jump start, your problem is elsewhere.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6222268-engine_doesnt_crank_turn_over . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

My car wont start and my battery's dead is the problem my alternator or my engine

well it could be a bad alternator or it could be a inline fuse on alternator wire going to battery charge battery and see if car still starts if it does let it run and see if it is charging if it is suspect bad battery if it is not charging check fuses and test alternator and replace what doent work hope this helps let me know prob.

Regulator in alternator obviously faulty, have it bench tested & fixed or replace alternator, and cure your problem.
