I had this problem a few times when my MINI was parted in the heat for a few hours. There's a sensor in the door that reads when the window is all the way up (or not). Most likey the window wasn't closed all the way when you powered down the system. I guess when you open the door, the window doesn't drop (around 1/2 inch) as normal either? Just start the car and drive around for a few minutes and try holding the window switch UP for a while. MINI service dept. told me the system checks the sensors every few minutes. So just try UP after a few mins. then DOWN until it opens.

Drivers rear window is stuck down. no matter what ive tried it does not work. i hear a faint clicking noise, relay i figure. but need it up

Sounds like the motor froze up, you'll have to access it by removing the door panel. Then try tapping on the motor while holding the switch. If this does not work, it will need replacing. Hope this helps, TJ

can you hear the motor trying to work the window? A fairly common problem is the window regulator breaks. this is the cable operated lifting mechanism that raises the window, when it breaks you can hear the motor winding away, accompanied by a faint clunking noise as the motor tries to operate the mechanism. They are quite difficult to replace.
if you cannot hear the motor working (also assuming all your other windows do work) then either to motor is faulty or there is no power to the motor. the wiring inside the rubber boot that goes from the car to the door (by the door hinges) is prone to breaking due to the constant flexing back and fourth as the door is opened and closed. switches can also fail, you may be able to swap the drivers/passengers switches around if they are identical for testing.

If all contacts and switches are in good shape, the motor may be wet.... try to air blow compressed air in/around/through the motor and perhaps blow dry the motor with a hair dryer.
good luck

My drivers side window on my mini one has stopped working, When i press the button to lower it i can hear a faint clicking sound coming from inside the door panel.

When the same thing happened on my Mini Cooper (2001), I had to have the window motor replaced (cost approx £250).
