Run in to autozone, Pep boys or similar parts place & get free scan for trouble codes & then go from there. Write down what codes & come back to us. Diagnosis will be cheaper & faster that way.

Location of engine coolant temp sensor on 1995 saturn sl

On my daughters sl2 it is on the driver side. A note though, there are 2. Crazy i know, one above the other. One goes to the guage and one to the computer. When my son had the car it would not stay running at idol, had to rev the engine to keep it going. The engine would shake hard too, what through me was the guage in the care read fine but once i found the sensors the one looked fine the other looked like it split in half. Hope that helps

Check engine light is staying on again , i drive about four miles , see the temperture hand rise and fall when the thermastat opens (replaced bad thermostat 3 weeks ago) ck eng light starts flashing @39...

Hello, If this is a Turbocharged or boosted engine, the Code 39 means there is a problem with the Bypass Valve control. It would also explain the heat retention in the motor.

You can get a FREE scan at Autozone, Advance , or Oreilys autoparts to verify the results of the "Check light". If you miscounted, the scan will still help and give a diagnosis.

I hope my solution is very helpful to you.

2006 2.5 engine temp light is coming on. fan is working and coolant level is full. I`m thinking thermastat. where exactly is the thermastat located on this engine?

Is it over heating, put one hand on upper hose and the other on lower hose if ther is a big difference in temperature oh my you will have to change water pump why the propellor is plastic and have a tendency to break internally. Now hold on lets go at this step by step. in the plastic radiator there is a low coolant sensor there see if that rod pops up (do this when the engine is cold) if it is you are looking at a waterpump

The engine light came on took it to auto zone had it diagnosed, said to either change the thermastat or coolant sensor, did both, engine light stayed off for one week now its back on

Check the coolant sensor plug to make sure its connected securely. If that doesn't fix it then take it back and have them recheck the code. Hope this helps!

If you have the 4-banger, it's probably the crankshaft position sensor. Is your engine light on? If yes, get a scan to make sure which sensor is bad.

1992grand prix red light comes on for a little while but temp gauge stays normal, full of coolant, thermastat is working

these cars were famous for the low coolant sensor failing. if the level and temp is ok, and the light is still on, replace the coolant level sensor. i think it is located on the passenger side of the rad, about 6 inches down on the tank.

Check engine light stays on

hi..
OK, the best action now would be to scan the ecu for any trouble codes that may be stored at this point with a diagnostic computer. this action will describe the issue concerning the check engine light and, it will also direct you to the location of the failed sensor that may be damaged at this time.

In most cases, this light will illuminate if a vital sensor has failed to register a signal for a short time or, if the sensor circuit is open...

Location of oil pressure sensor. light stays on all the time when power on. has oil and no knocks when running.

its located just above the oil filter.
This circuit is easy to test. When unplugged the light should go out. If the light stays on when un plugged the wire is shorted to ground somewhere.
Check this with the engine OFF.

Also make sure there is oil in the engine.
