Question about 1992 Nissan 240SX Fastback

1 Answer

Installed new fuel injectors in 92 Nissan 240SX - now car smokes & misses. What went wrong?

The wires are too short to get out of order. The injectors are the correct type & size.

Seems like one of the injectors is not getting any fuel.

    Any other suggestions?

You may have the order of wires mixed up or the wrong type or size fuel injectors were sold to you

92 nissan 240sx wont run after 2500- 3000 rpms changed cap and rotor new wires w/ plugs starts right after dies timing is also good

a weak coil could cause that problem
could also be an issue with the ECM / PCM
low fuel pressure caused by a weak fuel pump, clogged filter or dirty injector(s)

if you haven't tried this already then you should. get some QUALITY fuel system cleaner / injector cleaner, and follow the directions.

hope this helps.

Car ran hot and cut off, will not run but cranks,

could be fuel filter or injectors. Might be the throttle actuator.

All four injectors stopped working

Try the carb cleaner fluid by mixing it with the fuel or spray it at the intake. After cranking the engine a few times, wait for a while and if the engine refuses to start, get some young men to try & start it by rolling the vehicle & turn on the ignition(i.e. if it has has manual gear shifting) till the carb cleaner has got a chance of forced into the injector to clean the nozzles. If this fails then it(injectors) cleaned by maul removal & cleaning/replacing the injector nozzle tips by a qualified mechanic....sodeep

Think air fuel ratio is off over loading

Here are a couple of things to try.
1. You may have a vacuum leak or a bad EGR valve. 2. Try adjusting the timing. 3. Have you checked the air and fuel filters? 4.You may want to try adding some fuel injector cleaner to your gas if you haven't done so already.

Fuel injectors leak at fuel rail

Get some new O-rings, and this time put oil on them before you insert them into the fuel rail. The regulator is alright. The problem is that the o-rings can roll up, or twist when push em in dry. Had this problem once, easy fix, but was frustrating.
