When I start my 2001 extreme blazer it has a loud lifter ticking noise. After you drive for about 5 minutes it goes away.

Does it do it when cold or every time you start it? if it does it every time then I would pull the valve cover off of that side and see if there is a loose rocker nut, if notthen you have a lifter going bad, or has carbon sticking in it.
