Have 2002 ford zx2. It's 2.0 When car runs for five minutes runs great then lifters start clattering an smokes bad..what causes this..

not good . Check exhaust pipe when cold is it blowing out oil put a piece of paper near exhaust pipe check if oil spraying out.

if it is it could be worn rings in engine
or a cracked block
Hard to fix as engine has to be removed and the block remachined or welded. Same with rings engine has to be pulled apart . $$$$$$
You need to get a mechanic to give you an idea on possible cause and possible cost to fix compared to the cost of another engine like a Reconditioned engine or another car.

I have a 2003 hyndai elentra an i had both 02 sensors replaced plus flex pipe and check engine light came back on with 02 sensor error

Try first to clean out the MAF sensors and the intake with tuner cleaner spray. Check also the the fuel regulator. Check also for holes and gapes from the air filter to the intake manifold. An error on the O2 sensor mean does not mean it is faulty. It may also be related to the air fuel mixture. Check also the wiring of the sensors (MAF and O2).

I have 2002 Camry Le 4 cy.I was told that I need replace front pipe assembly & gasket (flex-pipe leaking) they said it would coast around 900 just for the part because there is catalytic con. but they...

The broken flex pipe can easily be fixed with a generic flex pipe for less then $100.
The catalytic converter is after that, so has nothing at all to do with it.
But cracks can also brazed or welded to fix.
However, the reason flex pipes break is from excessive engine movement.
That almost always means a loose bushing on a motor mount.
So do that first.
Should be less then $50.
Never take a car to a dealer unless you absolutely have to.
They charge twice what it should cost, because they want to sell new cars, not fix older ones.

Location of the thermostat on a elantra 2002

follow the top radiator hose to the engine and that is where you will find the thermostate housing. drain the coolant completely then pul the housing off. make sure when you put in the new thermostat that you put it in that same way and direction the old one was. clean and dry housing before installing gasket and putting back to gether. refill the cooling system, and run with cap off for 30 min topping of the fluid as needed. run for 15 minutes with cap on making sure to keep an eye on the cars temp gauge. after done drive the car for at least 15 miles let it cool down and ceck the coolant level.

hope this helped
please rate well
