Question about 2001 Jaguar XJ8
I bought the car with a thrown timing chain. Resulting in, you know, at least a broken piston and damaged valves. I thought... just buy a used engine ...approx year and mileage.
Well after doing some research I found Jag had some issues with timing chain tensions around 2001. Causing catastrophic failures. (...great... ) And in 2001 the engines changed.
My engine code is LL0012041647 which falls into the thru eng #010 8122359 category.
The used engines I'm seeing for sale in this category have much higher miles. The engines in the from eng #010 8130000 seem to have lower mileage.
The question is....Are these engines so different they can't be interchanged or was it more like a software change?
Can be used but you must us your flywheel converter of original engine as crank sensor is different
