I have a 1996 Isuzu Bighorn Lotus. There is a squishing/slight squeaking/ buzzing sound under the bonnet that occurs occasionally - sometimes when the brakes are applied and sometimes when just cruising. When the sound is heard on applying the brakes, there is a slight cushioning movement in the brake pedal. No ABS light is showing on the dash. On the TOD display symbol on the left side of the dash, one bar on the top section stays on most of the time. Occasionally it disappears. On rear occasions the bottom lights [rear wheels] flash on and off. Is the problem with the ABS system or is it connected to the shift selection electronics between 2wd/4wd? Your advice would be really appreciated. Keving
SOURCE: abs and brake lights both stay on
most likiely is a wheel speed sensor for the abs system that hasf ailed
SOURCE: intermittent braking problem
yeah you mostlikey have a abs pressure switch problem. which helps in the power assist , and or the seal in the brake booster is going bad
SOURCE: Hard brake pedal while applying brakes
with the sound of air when applying the brakes, sounds like a bad power brake booster, located behind the master cylinder, large round peice
SOURCE: 1997 Saab 9000 weird ABS problems:
have car scanned auto zone -advanced auto and some other auto stores will do this for free most likely one of your sensors is starting to go bad usually will activate at low speed under 10 mph as ur slowing down do check this problem early as abs can cause vehicle to stop longer
SOURCE: ABS light is on, brake pedal makes noise
sounds like the r/f wheel brg needs replacing when you are coming to a stop and you hear the pedal making noise does it pull slightley to the left this would conferm the r/f is the problem
