Question about 2001 Audi A6

Blinker is being CRAZY!

Sometimes when i use the blinker it works, only for 3-4 flashes. Sometimes not at all. Sometimes if I don't fully click it it gives off 2 flashes. Also, if I hit the dash with an open palm, right above the blinker while it is engaged, I can get 3-4 clicks. It happens if I am turning it to left or right.
The hazards work fine, and the cancel cam for the switch is working, and it clicks on and off.
Please help!!!

You need to replace the blinker lever switch the whole unit take it to a dealership if you can't replace it yourself and be prepared they cost an arm and a leg but if you can fix ityourself check out a local junk yard for amatching car to see how it comes apart b4 you tear into yours.. but also could be the flasher located deep under the driver's side

Turn signal failure

The bulbs all have to be good for the flasher to work. The flasher is under the dash, driver side. When you turn on a blinker, do you hear it clicking under the dash. If the turn light is on , on the dash , but not flashing, then a bulb is probably bad on that side. Leave the blinker on and walk around the vehicle to check the lights. Flip the blinker to the other side and walk around the vehicle again checking lights. If all the lights are lit, but not blinking, then the flasher is most likely bad.

Check for power at the socket. If there is no power I would suspect the flasher relay wich supplies power to each bulb individually after it gets the right or left signal from the switch.

that vehicle has a desperate relay for the hazards which is why they work, you have a defective signal flasher sometimes called a signal relay, follow the noise to locate exactly where the part is, usually under driver side of dash, it is a very cheap part and easy to install.

Blinker works intermittently

more than likely u have a bad flasher. to use it in the meantime, do this: push the lever just enuff to see the arrow flashing (before it starts buzzing), then hesitate briefly and slowly move the lever into the full position. or if u prefer u can hold the lever at the flash until your turn is made.
