First check and see when you turn on the air if the compressor turns on when the car is running and if it does you just need to charge it with freon you can get it at any autozone store. but if it doesn't turn when the switch is depressed on the dash but light comes on you need to charge the system with freon

Climate control stopped operating (climate control panel won't come on at all) 2001 BMW 530i

It must be obvious that the system has either a shorted wire or some component in the system, it is a tough job to track down these shorts in a system, that goes 2X for German monsters. I suggest you have a professional look at this or join a BMW forum and ask if other owners have had this issue, I have never seen this problem on a BMW until this one you posted

Remote locking doesnt work with key also doesnt with interior switch. hazard switch located with interior switch doesnt work either

You have a couple of issues here and both should be addressed by BMW or a specialty shop. Your lock issue is the locks are out of sync and there's a specific procedure to re-sync. The hazard switch could be the switch itself or a wiring issue. I'd have BMW look at it, besides they warranty their work for 1 year after repair.

The belt on the damper looks misplace like is going to go out of place in a BMW 325i 2006. Thanks for your help

You are talking about the serpentine belt that drives the alternator, or the one that drives the air conditioner compressor, correct?
This can be caused by a missing bushing or a loose bolt on the alternator or compressor or power steering pump. It is more likely a failing tensioner or tensioner pulley bearing. On this car, BMW sells the tensioner assemblies complete with pulleys. They don't sell just the pulleys, which are the part that usually fails first.
Unless you have unusually high miles, this car is a little 'young' for a tensioner or pulley to be worn out. Has anyone worked on the car who may have left something loose or missing?

Sounds like you AC did. gve out that is. The A?C appears to need a boost of refrigerant.

Runs rough when cruising at 35-40 mph

try pulling off the air breather hose and look inside at the mass air flow sensor,it looks like a wire with a diode hooked to it incase you didnt know, see if there is any fuzz on it,sometimes the air filter will lose small pieces and the mass air flow sensor catches it.If that doesnt work then you may have a fuel problem, weak pressure, causing the mass air flow sensor to read too much air so it tricks the computer to adjust the issue.

The reason your A/C sent hot and dash showed -40 is because you probably lost your amibent sensor. Its a sensor that reads the tempature outside and if its cold it will not allow your a/c to work, if you force it, you'll cause far more damage then you'd like. You can go to and find an ambient sensor. Also check to get pictures where your amibent senor is located. Mine was in back of the front / passanger sensor, and it got ripped off as I hit something on the road. Hope this helps...
