Problem for BMW 1997 318

Here is my issue have a 1999 318ti bmw,

here is my issue have a 1999 318ti bmw, looks like the picture above ,I bought it and didnt know why I miss that the air conditioner it doesnt work . I want to fix it,but can't seem to find diagram for me to go by. where can i get one or am i screw trying to fix it on my own.Or should i go to a mechanic and don't bother with it?please help

first check and see when you turn on the air if the compressor turns on when the car is running and if it does you just need to charge it with freon you can get it at any autozone store. but if it doesn't turn when the switch is depressed on the dash but light comes on you need to charge the system with freon
