Royal Purple gear oil if it's for the rear end just remove the differential cover replace it with a new gasket then there is usually either a plug on the differential cover or on the side of the rear end housing. if it's on the housing it will be a square plug bolt

if however this is for a manual transmission then it's going to be a square plug on the side of a transmission housing

Hi plz asst me, I have jaguar x type 1999 model, I was change transmission oil in the gearbox, and now the gearbox not working. Plz I need asst

Hi, changing transmission oil can't cause your car not having gears. If your car is automatic transmission your car must be on idling and check level of transmission oil. If the level of oil is low you will not have gears.

I have Vitz 2006,its gear oil was replaced but after that it stopped workling.ie not changing fron gears while it is changing rear gear very nicely.what could be the problem?

Probably has the wrong type of oil in it. Most manual trannys call for a GL-4 gear lube as it contains the additive to help protect the yellow metals in the synchros. I read about this a while back at this site: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php

A jolt from the rear of the car when the auto gear box changes in low gear and a noise from the near side rear

jolt from the rear of the car when the auto gear box changes in low gear is a common fault in the older s types. most of the time is a sign of the gear box on its way out. is worth checking gear box oil level and oil quality though. noise from near side rear would probably be the damper rose joint which make a knocking noise when they wear.
