My Honda Accord 85 is blowing white smoke from the tail pipe. And underneath the car there's a heat shield that's got something dripping onto it. What could the problem be from, or what should I do about it? The oil is at the top of the full mark on the dip stick, but for some reason the brake fluid has to be constantly checked cause it has a slow leak somewhere I believe.
Check the brake system for any leaks. check the master cylinder for leaking out the rear of it. if you take the master cylinder nuts of that hold it to the power brake booster and slide the master off the booster and look at the rear of the master to check for a fluid leak or dampness. if you see this replace the master cylinder. also sometimes the power booster will suck the fluid were its drawn into the engine and burnt and the smoke will look white. another thing that causes white smoke is a bad head gasket as the coolant is sucked into the combustion chamber and burnt, it can also leak externally and cause the dripping you see.
The white smoke is typically coolant leaking through a head gasket located between the engine block and cylinder head. It is not likely to pass emissions, may deteriorate the catalytic converter, and would cost $250-350 replace the gasket and mill the cylinder head.
A bluish smoke would be oil leakage through worn piston rings and would be best to swap the motor with a used one for ~$750.
If the braking isn't spongy, the brake fluid leak is likely at the resevoir on the master cylinder.

worn piston rings produce blue smoke all the time especially under acceleration. time for another rebuild or total replacement.. i am not very familiar with metric but thet is still a lot of miles, replace the rings, or replace the engine, or replace the car. it sounds like it is well worn
SOURCE: oil is leaking out of the engine from the leak is
it's in the timing cover
probably balance shaft seal
if u have to replace it, u should check your water pump, timing belt, crank seal, cam seal also
SOURCE: i have 1988 honda accord and it is emitting white
White smoke comes through the exhaust due to leak in turbocharger seal.It can be solved by replacing the turbocharger kit.

If it is a constant smoke and or alot, your head gasket is blown. stop driving it if you want to save this engine. also engines with really high miles don't like head jobs, remanned heads can blow out the rings on the pistons and that leads to an engine rebuild. If your car has really high miles , you would be better off replacing the engine
