So you have voltage at the distributor and the rotor is turning. Check for voltage at the end of each plug wire. If you do not have voltage there you are loosing it in the wire or the cap. Is the cap new? Are cap and rotor new?
Just be sure you have voltage at every point between the distributor and the plugs.
Good luck!

How do I get a 4.3 back in time after removing distributor?

If you got the distributor in at least close to where it originally was, leave it in for now. You will have to find TDC for #1 cylinder by turning crankshaft until you see and line up timing marks. When you line up the timing marks, you will be on for #1 or 180 degrees off. You will able to tell by pulling the cap and seeing if it's pointing at #1(or near it). When you're sure you are lined up TDC on #1, pull the distributor, noting how much the rotor turns counterclockwise(CCW) when pulling dist out. Now hold the dist housing in the position you want it to sit in the block( determined by where #1 spark terminal will be), the rotor should be CCW about 1 1/2" from the #1 term, then lower dist housing down while watching the rotor turn clockwise and line up with the #1 spark plug terminal. The dist housing will be flush with block if done correctly. It takes some practice, but as long as you get #1 lined up at the crank timing tab and don't disturb it, you can play with the dist all day. The trick is, you have to get the oil pump shaft lined up with the drive tang on the bottom of the dist. You can use a long flat blade screwdriver to turn the oil pump shaft to the right clock position so it lines up when you drop in the dist. Remember to hold dist housing steady when lowering and let rotor turn into position. Good luck.

Bring the motor to tdc and see if the rotor is pointing at #1 on the cap,you were supposed to make a mark on the dist.flange and on the motor to line up the dist.

Changed distributor and rotor and won't start

make sure firing order is correct if so then get motor at top dead center..If you dont know how to do this obtain a book and follow detailed procedure.....(it is fairly simple) once at top dead center pull dist. cap and see if rotor points directly to spark plug wire # 1 on cap...If not loosen distributor and turn until rotor is pointing to #1 wire

Will not start

Did you install the correct plugs, and did you check the gap? Also check all wires again to make sure nothing was pulled off, or loosened by accident.

No spark from dist power in none out new dist

Check the rotor, and the coil inside the distributor. Check the distributor cap for any cracks and the rotor. Be sure that the wires , spark plugs are good. And that the distributor is marked when you remove it to make sure the timing is right. there have been cases where the shaft that goes into the oil pump fro the distributor has not engaged into the pump.
