Question about 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora

1 Answer

1998 Oldsmobile Aurora HVAC blower runs continously even ign. off

Is there a relay involved in the control of the blower? If so, where is it located? Does the "AC Blower" fuse in the panel power the blower motor or just the relay? Is the blower control module on the side of the blower housing just the speed controller or does it control on/off?

The blower motor control module is under the dash on the inside of the passenger side. I'm not sure what you mean by the AC Blower.... the blower contols levels and on and off. The air won't work at all if this goes.. I had it replaced on mine and had an on/off switch put in while the part came in and it cost me 217 bucks. Hope this helps.

2003 ION my blower for heat just stopped working.

If 30A RUN (IGN 3) FUSE 48 in the underhood fuseblock is OK, there may be failure of the run relay or run relay control logic in the body control module, the HVAC fan switch in the HVAC control head or the blower motor resistor assembly.

I Have a 1998 Buick Rivera Blower does not blow i have power to the relay under the rear seat i have pulled the blower motor. by passed and motor fine no power to fuse left side of dash is there a rel

Not sure hat rely you are checking but the blower motor does. To have a relay in the rear fuse block. The fuse you're checking protects the HVAC computer. The HVAC computer uses that circuit to monitor the voltage going to the blower motor.

The most likely problem is the blower motor resistor, aka blower motor module, blower motor speed control. It is typically located near the blower motor. The red wire is power from the battery and should be there all the time. Black is ground. Purple is power to the blower. Grey/black is the speed input from the HVAC module.

Blower motor not working on 2005 buick lacrosse cxl

Blower operation is handled by the HVAC control module which gets its power from the 10A HVAC fuse in the instrument panel fuse block. There is a blower motor control processor that gets its power from the 30A BATT MAIN 4 fuse in the underhood fuse block. The HVAC control module sends speed signals to the blower motor control processor which turns on the blower motor at the selected speed. Note that there is no relay involved. If you check the fuses and check the path to the blower motor you may find that the motor is OK and the trouble is somewhere else

I see quite a few of these that the connector on the blower motor side goes bad. One thing you can do is remove the panel under the passenger side of the dash. You will see the blower motor when you remove it. With the key on and the blower motor set to any speed wiggle/pull/twist the connector. If the blower motor changes speed or stops it need to be replaced.
