Is a 2003 ford escape 3.0 four wheel drive and two wheel drive transmission interchangeable?

Escape slipping or stalling out going up small inclines.

The 4 wheel drive engines are sideways and I believe the automatic is a forward facing engine.

Ok first 2 different transmissions and are not interchangeable as in David's post //// next there's a difference between slipping in gear or just stalling out so it sounds like your plugs need regaping and most likely a complete tune up also clean out the throttle body with fuel injection cleaner this also could be a very worn throttle position sensor or broken vacuum line check the tune up stuff first and cleaning with spray then these will be eliminated from the possible causes ok post back if problems still are present

SOURCE: front wheel bearing 2004 escape 4x4

It's nearly impossible unless you have a good air compressor and a powerful 1/2" or larger drive impact gun.The reason is you have to remove the cv axle nut and axle out of the way before removing the bearing and hub.The axle nut requires a couple hundred foot pounds to remove. The procedure is:Jack vehicle safely off the ground, remove wheel and tire.Remove axle retaining nut.Remove balljoint nut and bolt, pry down on lower control arm,and disengage balljoint and lower arm from spindle. Now the axle can be released from the hub,but leave the other end of the axle in the trans, just set off to the side out of the way.At this point, there are two ways to change the bearing. The wheel bearing is a double roller, cartridge type with the hub containg the wheel studs, pressed into the bearing.Remove the entire spindle assembly from the suspension strut,OR leave the spindle attached to the strut, and remove the bearing and hub from the spindle. Some guys swear by taking the spindle to a press, and pressing the bearing assembly out with a bottle jack.I just use a bushing driver set,and ball peen hammer, and remove the hub from the bearing...then remove the snap ring retaing the bearing in the spindle, then drive the bearing out of the spindle with the hammer and drivers. There you have it.Reverse procedure for reassembly

SOURCE: headlight went out in 2003 ford escape i have

you have to remove the whole headlight assembly, then pop off the front cover pull the old bulb out and put the new one in. reverse the process to re-install. there is a small plastic tab on the topfront of the headlight assembly, that is what you need to release to get the clear cover off and get inside.

How to replace the engine/transmission mounts on 2003 ford escape V-6 4 wheel drive?

Remove shields and main centre bar , use heat or have to cut bolts and replace them , replace all 4 engine and transmission mount as one goes all goes . Get original parts as the rubber on other ones will not hold and has to be replaced very soon again , especiallly with sport driving conditions . A mufler shoppe is best for this work .

My over drive light keeps blinking periodically on my ford escape 2003. it seems to drive fine, I just had the transmission replaced 2 months ago. What could the problem be?

Get it back to where you took it to be fixed ASAP. You should definitely have, AT THE VERY LEAST, a 90 day warranty. This seems like it's something that wasn't reconnected properly or at all. Good luck!

Starts shaking while you are driving and the rpms go up, and the emissions light is on

Don't sound too good.......could be Transmission, tork converter..sorry. When the RPM's go up and the car don't move it may need fluid or it's a sign of the transmission slipping....

Transmission

No they don't, the cases look the same but they have part numbers, so the internal parts and how the trans is operated is different. Here are the part numbers. Many of the big parts may interchange.

Tribute Trans # Ford LA4A-EL 4 Spd. Automatic Transaxle

Ford Escape # Ford CD4E 4 Spd. Automatic Transaxle
