Some of the energy of your engine is used to run the airconditioning (pump etc). Mine does the same, its normal on smaller cars

How do I fix a problem of engine cutting out when I have air conditioning on and I slow down ?

idle air control valve problem , maybe ! Clogged passage . When you put extra load on the engine , such as turning on the A/C the PCM is suppose to raise the idle RPM . With a up scale scan tool you can see if the PCM is controlling the IAC valve . There are videos on you tube on cleaning The IAC , plus testing !
PCM is the engine computer ,just in case your not familiar with that .

Why van dies on me when i slow down ,reverse, turn, ect.? replaced fuel filter, air filter, throttle body cleaned, and iac replaced. what else cound it be?

Did you disconnect the battery when you installed it so the computer could see the new part? Next was the rod sticking out or retracted? It should have been retracted. Disconnect the vacuum hose going to the brakes and the engine will speed up reconnect hose the engine will slow down and then level off if not you have a wiring problem. There are many sensors that control it throttle position sensor, crankshaft sensor, coolant temp sensor, brakes and air conditioning when used

Why are the fans not coming on in my 1999 deville

99 Deville - have you checked the large fan fuse(s) under and behind the main fuse/relay box ?? (I think this holds for 99 - 2000+ moved the maxi-fuses to the underhood box on the passenger side.)

Also, are your relays on a mount down near the fans ? Some have had trouble with the wiring/sockets there. 2000 or later moved the relays up to the fuse box itself. There are 3 - Fan 1, Fan 2, and a series/parallel (S/P) relay for slow and fast speeds.

Fans run in SLOW at 224 degrees F, FAST at 236 degrees F if there is no air conditioning or DEFROST function set. In the city or heavy traffic the gauge will go to the first tick mark past 12:00 and the fans come on. As the coolant lowers to 213 degrees F the fans turn off and the cycle repeats.

IF you set an air conditioning function, then fans run in SLOW all the time.

If your fans will not run under any conditions, check the large fuses in the underhood fuse/relay box, as well as the small fuses for the fan relays - there are 3 relays: Fan 1, Fan 2, and S/P (series/parallel): the fans are relay set to series operation (voltage drop) for Slow speed, parallel operation (full voltage) for Fast.

On 2004 Trailblazer, when air conditioning is turned on car does not idle right almost cuts off. no problem at speed, only idle & slowing down.

I would suspect the clutch on the air conditioning unit, also if the unit is overcharged
from a recent charge this would also bog the engine. At speed it would not be as pronounced.
Hope this helps.

Idling goes up and down

If the air conditioning is on, then the engines idle will increase when the air conditioning compressor cuts in, and slow down again when the a/c compressor cuts out again.
If your model has a heat switch, if this is on, then the engine will idle faster, until the engine temperature reaches about 50 deg C, then as the glow rail switches off, the idle also drops back to normal.

The temperature meter rise when car slows down and air condition turned on. turning off air condition brings the temperature down.what could be the cause?

does the engine idle faster when the air cond is on ..if not it may be the sensor that controls idle ,it has to go faster to compensate load ..anyway your radiator could be blocked feel the top hose n bottom should be a noticable temp differance

?? I also have 2004 XK8 with the navigation screen (Alpine). That isn't a touch type screen. The newer ones have a touch screen, but not that year.
You set the temperature (digital display) and the car will either turn on the heat or air conditioning, and speed up or slow down the fan depending on how close the actual temperature is to what you have set.

Air Conditioning Problem

Check your fan. You have air flow problems. If you don't have a fan clutch look at the electrical fan problems.
