Question about 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier
I have a 92 chevy cavalier and it starts fine but when I put it in drive it shuts off. I had it towed to a garage but the mechanic is not sure when he can work on it. My car is also shaking.
It may need new spark plugs and wire, the fuel injectors may be dirty, or the EGR valve is stuck open and needs to be cleaned or replaced. Or all of the above. The other thing too is it may need the new fuel filter. I would start with a common tune up and replace the spark plugs and wire, air filter, and fuel filter. If that did not work, I would also check the EGR valve to make sure it's working and the coils and ignition module to make sure there working good and also do a fuel pressure test at the shredder valve. Good luck and hope this helps. At worst the valve has burn a hole in it and that would mean to repalce the car since that's going to be costly.
