Question about Jeep Grand Cherokee

I need to replace the flasher relay in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I finally found the part (small canister like you said in an earlier post). But can not find where it goes??? Have pulled everything apart and can not find anything that looks like it.

So just to be clear, it is square shaped on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee? The auto supply place gave me a round one when they looked the part up.

Also my Hazards work just fine. I was told I had two relays, one for each and that the flasher one was bad.

Yes it is a 2002. Thank you VERY much for the answers. I will go back to the supply store and get the right part.

The combination flasher is located in the Junction Block (JB) . The JB is located underneath the driver side of the instrument panel outboard of the steering column. The combination flasher is a smart relay that functions as both the turn signal system and the hazard warning system flasher.

See diagram - 1- is flasher -2- is JB

    Hi

According to my information it is a combination flasher on the 2002 Cherokee year model and is square shaped. You can check this easily by opening the junction box and then checking it against the diagram. If you have the three square units in there at the top as per diagram then that shows it is a combination unit.

However you say your hazards are working which goes against this! Have you checked that all bulbs are flashing when hazard is switched on?

Here is another more in depth diagram which again indicates a combination flasher third from left. Your vehicle is definitely 2002?

Changed flasher relay in grand cherokee, had flashers before and turn signals worked occasionally, now nothing

test the combo switch,
get the schematic,
then with a voltemeter probe the input to combo and output.
if imput is good, and output is bad the switch is bad.
alldata.com has the schematic.
the FSM even walks you step by step to each test.

I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee and my turn signals stopped working. My hazard lights are working fine. Lights are working also. But im not getting a light on the dash for my turn signals.

I have the same issue. I took the flasher relay out, inspected the pieces for any hairline fractures on the circuit board, nothing it was clean. On my jeep, the turn signals always work in the Spring, Summer, Fall months, but as soon as Winter hits I loose my turn signals. Also, I know it is temperature related because I drive around for a half hour and the signals work again. It is really strange, I think the issue is somewhere in the ground wire, I will be checking that next and will post any new information. Anybody else who has had this issue and correlation I would certainly like to hear about any solutions. Thanks

How to replace a relay switch for a 1999 jeep grand cherokee

The relay on our 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee was located behind the headlight on the passenger side of the vehicle. technicians at the Jeep dealership that you have to remove the bumper to get to it OR you can remove the headlight assembly and drill a hole large enough to get a socket and extension to the bolts on the relay..removed the headlight and drilled a 5/8" hole to get to the relay screws.
Why Jeep puts this relay in such a hard place to reach is beside me - - - other than perhaps they don't want it to be easily customer replaceable. Argh! Good luck.

Turn signals dont work most of the time. i cant find the flasher module

your Flasher/turn signal relay are malfunction,it suppose to have a regular clicking sound everytime you use the flasher/turn signal switch, you need to replace with a new one,but you need first to check your bulbs, the RELAY located on the left driver side under the dashboard, or turn your flasher so that you can here the clicking sound....

Check engine light, vapor canister, have any idea

I would start with the gas cap replacement and see if the issue resolves itself. If you do have a problem with the EVAP (canister) system, it may require tools the average person does not have to help diagnose and correct/repair.

My signals and flasher quit working 2002, Jeep Grand Cherokee

in your vehicles owner manual, look up fuses, and flasher units or flasher relay. Fuses are normally located under the dash, but when both turn signals quit working it is usually the relay. The relay is located under the hood yours owners manual should show you the location.
