I don't think trying to reuse the fittings on a different hose will work. These fittings are crimped by machine for high pressure use.

If you do not want to go the Dealer route, possibly there is a local shop that specializes in air conditioning repair that can make up a new hose for you.

You may also be able to make up new hoses yourself. Go on line to: AC or type in "AC Hoses" on your search engine(Google, etc.), and you may be able to find the correct fittings and hoses to make your own hoses... Hope this helps..

Heater hose chrysler 300 leaking by fittings?

If this is true, you need to replace either the heater hose, or the hose clamp there by the leak.
Know that, whenever a heater hose leaks by the fittings, someone (you) need to check all of the heater hoses for viability, to see if any or all of them need replacement.
Most heater hoses can go 6-8 years before they need replacement.
God bless your efforts.

Power steering fluid leaking. change hose? change pump? Re clamp?

If the hose itself is leaking (not the connection/end) , replace the hose. If the hose is more than 5 years old, I'd probably just replace it. If it's the low pressure hose (return) and it's leaking at the junction, you can probably replace the clamp. If it's the high pressure hose (with the machine-formed hose ends) then replace the hose - a clamp is unlikely to withstand the pressure and you don't want to take the chance of it blowing off when you're turning.

How to repair power steering leak?

You need to first diagnose what is leaking. Most power steering leaks are in the pressure hose but not always. Pressure hoses will have screw on fittings and return hoses will usually just have spring clamps or screw type clamps on the end of the hose. Pressure hose most likely, return hoses 2nd, failing rack and pinion assy 3rd and pressure pump last. If its leaking from the bellows on the end of the rack and pinion the you will need a reman unit. Presure pumps are also remanufactured if thats what you need. hoses are replaced with new hoses or standard return hose for the return line.

How to replace cabin and fuel filters for 1996 acura 3.2 TL?

For the fuel filter:

Removal & Installation

Many Acura models are equipped with a theft deterrent audio system. Make sure you have the necessary code before disconnecting the battery.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure, as outlined in Section 5 of this manual.

On 2.2L and 3.0L engines you may have to remove the engine wire harness bracket and power steering feed hose clamp.

  1. Wrap a shop towel around the fittings and, using a proper flare nut wrench, slowly loosen the fuel line fittings.

  1. Remove the banjo bolts from the fuel lines.
  2. Remove the fuel filter clamp retaining bolt and the clamp.
  3. Remove the filter from the vehicle.

A through cleaning of the high pressure hoses is recommended before installation.

To install:

  1. Install the new filter and tighten the clamp mounting bolt to 7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm).
  2. Attach the banjo fittings with new washers in place.
  3. Tighten the banjo fitting bolts to 25 ft. lbs. (33 Nm).

On 2.2L and 3.0L engines you may have to reconnect the engine wire harness bracket and power steering feed hose clamp.

  1. Connect the negative battery cable, then start the engine and thoroughly check for leaks.

Power sterring hose leaks. how is hose connected to pump

Most of the PS pressure hoses are Compression Fittings. If the fitting is straight on and is clean on the inside before you seated the hose, there may be a burr of the pump side where the fitting sits. Some of these fittings are replaceable and others require a new pump. Check your new hose also for cracks where the pipe section of the hose is that looks sort of like a trumpet end. If the fitting is in good shape, the pump fitting is clean and unmarred, you may need to tighten the hose a little more.

Where is the vacuum hose located on my 2000 ford excursion Limited? It is the 7/3 diesel engine. I need to find it so my husband can replace it. It has a leak.

the main vacuum hose is at the main intake frame at the top of the engin

but the vacuum lines for the vacuum systeme are more than one which one you main.
any way use this methode to check for leaking hoses.
A small piece of vacuum hose (1/4-inch inside diameter) can be used as a stethoscope to detect vacuum leaks. Hold one end of the hose to your ear and probe around vacuum hoses and fittings, listening for the
"hissin'g" sound characteristic of a vacuum leak.

(It's quite common for vacuum hoses, especially those in the emissions system, tobe color coded or identified by colored stripes molded into them. Various systems require hoses with different wall thickness, collapse resistance and temperature resistance.

When replacing hoses, be sure the new ones are made of
the same material.

Often the only effective way to check a hose is to remove it completely from the vehicle.

If more than one hose is removed, be sure to label the hoses
and fittings to ensure correct installation.

When checking vacuum hoses, be sure to include any plastic
T-fittings in the check. Inspect the fittings for cracks and
thehose where it fits over each fitting for distortion, which
could cause leakage.
. Warning: When probing with the vacuu hose stethoscope, be careful not to
come into contact with moving engine components such as drivebelts, the cooling fan, etc.

A/C charging

Is your taurus already equipped to handle the new type of refrigerant (it's called R134a)? If it is not then you need to buy a conversion nipple which will fit over the existing fitting on the vehicle. This is most likely the issue.

My 93 grand cherokee

Using a flair nut wrench, disconnect both ends of the hose & remove it. New one goes back in the same way other one came out. Make sure that any "o" rings (if any) are replaced as new (usually supplied with hose if they're supposed to be there). Make sure that fittings are threading squarely into components and can be finger tightened at least part way to avoid cross-threading fittings. When finished, make sure that hose is not rubbing on anything or it will wear a hole at that point.
RE-fill pump, start vehicle, turn steering wheel all the way to the left, hold it there and count to ten, center wheel, re-fill pump, repeat process, all way to right. (this removes air from system). Top off, check for leaks and you are finished!
