Question about 2003 Honda Civic
I have 2002 honda civic ex coupe.it overheats once in a wile. but no codes on scanner.
i changed the thermostat,and radiator.
wierd thing is i can drive for like a week or somtimes more before it gets hot then i stop let it cool down and i can drive for another week.
when it heats up the fans arent constantly on they just cycle.(come on for 30 secs then shut off). car will still be hot when they shut down.
Also when this problem first started there was no check engine light on i have been driving it like this for 2 weeks never letting it get to the red.
today i went out and started it check engine light was on i had a friend scan it it came up with 6 miss fire codes cylender 1,2,3 and 2 random missfires. but car runs smooth with no loss of power cleared the codes check engine light stays off.
I have a 2002 Honda Civic Ex, it has been over heating but only in stop and go traffic, never on the freeway, i have replaced, timing belt, water pump, cooling fan relay, cooling fan switch, flushed radiator. There is no white smoke coming from the tail pipe and the oil is clean, when the car gets hot i can smell the coolant pretty strong, car has never completly overheated gets about 3/4 of the way til red.
