SOURCE: transmission fluid level?

There is a 11mm plug on the passenger side of the trans near the axle shaft. Remove that with the car level, trans hot, and engine idling. Fluid should just come out of there when its full.

SOURCE: transmission fluid level

It is usually printed on the Transmission dipstick.
Engine warm, engine running, on level ground. Check level on dipstick, shoud be somewhere between add and full. Do not add oil if it is not below the add line.

SOURCE: got a 2005 malibu maxx w/ v6 and 87,000 miles - do

Hello lmason: My name is Roger and I will help you. The engine in your car does not have a timing belt. THe engine has a timing chain. The chain is oiled by the engine lubrication. Therefore you do not need to change it like you would a timing belt. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. This way I know it was helpful Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Testimonial: "thanks, roger, i was unsure of whether the malibu maxx had a timing belt or timing chain, thanks for the clarification. i appreciate your prompt reply"

Will hole in exaust, near cat. converter give me code 1139?

Possible causes
  • Faulty O2 Sensor
  • High fuel pressure
  • Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
  • O2 Sensor harness is open or shorted
  • O2 Sensor circuit poor electrical connection

an exhaust leak would contribute to the problem too. O2 sensors getting wrong readings due to leak which would add more fuel.

Could be the downstream O2 sensor, which could've had the wire knocked off during the installation of the transmission

2005 Hyundai Tucson 2.7L 2WD

P0430 is a catalyst efficiency code. If there are no leaks in the exhaust or any vacuum leaks that could affect O2 sensor operation and the O2 sensors are working properly then it's possible that you need a catalytic converter. If you have access to a scanner capable of reading live data plug it in and take the vehicle on the high way at a steady 55-60 mph. The O2 sensor should read somewhere around 700 mv give or take but should not fluctuate to much. If it does you need a catalyst bank #2. Good luck!

How does one check transmission oil in 2005 chevy malibu maxx

You don't yourself. The lube change shop or garage can do this (requires special tools or removal of the pan). for a 2005 you're likely in need of a flush. some models can have a dipstick installed, but its not necessary. Unless you have a serious leak of fluid or shifting issues, it's rare to lose fluid. If you are having issues, then start with a flush and inspection BY A REPUTABLE GARAGE. do not use a dealer or transmission shop, they will always find ways to seprate you from your $$$

Diagram of the location of a down stream o2 sensor on a 2005 chevy malibu.

Hi,
Downstream sensor is screwed into exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter on most models. Depending on your exhaust configuration, your code will say bank 1 or bank 2 or no bank designation. Some have converters coming off each cylinder bank (exhaust manifold off cylinder head) if only 1 converter in system (no bank) there will only be the one O2 sensor downstream.

I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu Maxx, engine ligth is on

If this is the first time the light has come on more than likely its the O2 sensor. If you want to find the code go to a Murrys Auto parts store and rent the scan tool or maybe a local auto repair shop with scan it for you for free.

Hope this helps U
