your window has fallen off its track. either remove the inner door paneling and re seat it on the track, or take to mechanic. It is a cheap repair.

WINDOW OFF THE TRACK?

Sounds like scores are out in the door regulator. You can pull the door panel off following instructions on the net (on youtube) My bet is that you have screws that hold the track in place that have come loose and the window regulator is pushing it askew when it's near the top. If it's going up and down, it means the regulator is good.. You'll see at the bottom of the window the regulator typically attaches to two plastic pieces on the bottom. It's also possible that one of those screws has rusted/broken and the window is twisting out of the track near the top. My bet is the rear track rail has come loose on one of it's upper or lower screws, and the widow is not getting guided properly when it gets to the top. Really easier than you think to remove the door skin and see.

VW Beetle the drivers side window goes half way up but stops

sounds like you have a bad regulator. this is caused by the cables in the regulator becomming dry and start to bind up and then break causing the window to free fall down.

1994 cutlass supreme drivers side window will go down but falls off track going up

Normally tracks are not removable. I think you have a window regulator problem. Or the rivits holding the glass in place need to be drilled out and replaced with 1/4 inch bolts and pressure nuts.

My window went down and would not come up. The 3 other windows goes down w/o problems. What may be the problem?

The window rests in a track to guide it up and down. The window will fall of this track causing the window to stay down. You can probly grab the window and pull it up but it will not stay it needs to be put back on track. You can do this by pulling off the door panel and working the window back in place and pushing the track tight agiant the window and adjusting them as need be. If this starts happing alot it will need a new window motor and regulater.

Good luck
