did you do this procedure? most errors in programming are failures caused by not following instructions EXACTLY 1.. Close all vehicle doors. 2. Insert the key into the ignition. 3. Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver?s door panel-continue to hold down until instructed to release in step 9. 4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in fairly rapid succession. 5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine). 6. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. 7. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. 8. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. 9. Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The vehicle will lock and unlock the doors automatically. 10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously until the door locks and unlocks. This step may take up to 30 seconds. 11. Repeat step 10 NOW for each additional transmitter (including any existing transmitters). 12. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.

SOURCE: 2002 silverado single cab, haveing trouble getting

this is a fairly simple fix, you will use a method called 3-10's:
step 1 is to turn key on engine off.
step 2 is turn key to start briefly then let off (maybe a second and then just let off key)
step 3 remain inside vehicle do not touch anything for approx. 10 mins. then on your message board the security will quit blinking .
step 4 at this time you will turn the key off for FIVE mins. and turn back on.
repeat step 1-4 TWO more times, after this time you can turn the key off once again and your done the next time you cycle the key, the fob should be programmed to your computer. good luck

You have to go to a Chevy dealer. They have a hand-held computer they plug into your car to get it into programming mode. Probably cost $50-$60. Call them for an estimate.

I replaced the battery in the keyless remote and need to resynchronize keyless remote

Method 1 - No Tools Required, Program All Transmitters
Important: All transmitters which are to be recognized by the PDM must be programmed in a single programming sequence. When using this program method, all previously programmed transmitters will be erased upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter.
The order in which the transmitters are programmed will determine its numbering position within the PDM memory. The first transmitter programmed will be transmitter #1, and the second transmitter programmed will be transmitter #2. The number stamped on the transmitter case is for reference only; #2 can be programmed as #1, or vice versa. Additional unnumbered transmitters are also available.

  1. Close all the vehicle doors.
  2. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder.
  3. Press and hold the door unlock switch.
  4. While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
  5. Release the door unlock switch. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the program mode.
  6. Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of approximately 15 seconds, the doors will lock and unlock to confirm the programming of that transmitter.
  7. Repeat the previous step to program up to 4 transmitters.
  8. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position in order to exit the keyless entry transmitter programming mode.
  9. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

and return to step 1 ). If the locks do cycle automatically then proceed to step 10.

10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote until the doors lock and
unlock. This may take up to 30 seconds.

11. Repeat step 10 NOW for each additional remote. (Including any existing remotes).
12. Turn the ignition to the ON position to exit the programming mode.
13. Test remote(s).
