Question about 2001 Hyundai Accent

2001 Accent not accepting gas.

When putting gas in the car the pump kicks off like the tank is full. One dealer said he never heard of such a thing. Another dealer said it could be a charcoal filter clogged up. Worse case would be $12-1300. Is the charrcoal filter in that "box" under the rear fender. Would replacing the part that has wires plugged in to it help? Sone one sait there is some sort of air valve on the tank itsself. I probably could replace all parts for much less than $1300.00. Thanks

I HAVE THE SAME CAR AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!!! I DROPPED THE TANK AND DISCONNECTED THE GAS INPUT HOSE (THE HOSE YOU PUMP YOUR GAS INTO, BIGGEST ONE) AT THE GAS TANK. IT HAD A ONE-WAY VALVE IN IT, I REMOVED IT AND HAVE HAD NO MORE PROBLEMS SINCE.

When refueling my 2001 accent theres too much air preasure that it indecates thats the gas tank is full but its not how do i fix that so i can pump gas normaly

Some cars have a very restricted neck to the tank which induces pressure blowback turning off the pump. Others have a very small diameter breather vent hose that releases trapped air in the tank/neck. Yours could have either or both. It may be a feature of this car/model that you have to live with but a local shop would be able to check the vent pipe is functioning properly. Its usually visible alongside the neck from underneath. Unfortunately due to smog regulations almost all cars to latest spec have to capture all vented fumes when running and this tends to complicate the free breathing of tanks and necks.

When trying to put gas in my car, the gas kicks back like it's full but it is not full i don't understand why we can't put fuel in the tank

Your car has a EPA mandated fuel vapor recovery system as part of the fuel tank filler device, this is malfunctioning and is blocking air from being vented while filling which causes the fuel to kick off. You must see the dealer to have this diagnosed. This may be covered under an extended warranty for emission system components.

My Hyundai Accent 2003 has a problem while filling fuel. It stops every 0.3 gallons. I tried to fill it manually, squeezing the pump very slowly, with no luck. The guy at Tuffy did not have any idea how to...

upon filling the tank, push the nozzle in fully were the nozzles seal meets the filler neck rim. Then pull the nozzle out about one or two inches and try that. It seems to work on cars that have a very thin walled gas neck to the tank

Gas gauge works intermittently-1996 Hyundai Accent

Two things here. Its either theres a bad ground from the tank to the frame or the fuel sending unit in the tank is not working properly...Give all the ground wires from the fuel pump harness up to the motor..Make sure not corroded. If all the wires are good than its the fuel sender in the tank..Hope this helps you find your problem and have a great day...

2004 hyundai accent. trouble filling gas tank

I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent, It is not possible to fill the tank if you are letting the petrol pump run at full speed.Trying to fill up quickly it will only build up pressure and cut off. Next time you fill up just pull the petrol pump handle half way, it will take longer to fill but you wont get the blow back. Modern petrol pumps are getting quicker all the time.Hope this helps you.

Try moving the handle in a different position, or don't put the nozzel all the way in. The vent tube could be clogged.
