Question about 2001 Hyundai Accent
When putting gas in the car the pump kicks off like the tank is full. One dealer said he never heard of such a thing. Another dealer said it could be a charcoal filter clogged up. Worse case would be $12-1300. Is the charrcoal filter in that "box" under the rear fender. Would replacing the part that has wires plugged in to it help? Sone one sait there is some sort of air valve on the tank itsself. I probably could replace all parts for much less than $1300.00. Thanks
I HAVE THE SAME CAR AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!!! I DROPPED THE TANK AND DISCONNECTED THE GAS INPUT HOSE (THE HOSE YOU PUMP YOUR GAS INTO, BIGGEST ONE) AT THE GAS TANK. IT HAD A ONE-WAY VALVE IN IT, I REMOVED IT AND HAVE HAD NO MORE PROBLEMS SINCE.
