It could be a number of things. First of all the above commen left is reffering to your axel berring being worn out if you jack up the truc and grab the tire top to bottom and side to side and there is play like it isn't tightened all the way then your bearings are worn on that side. I recently had to redo mine cause it felt like there was a boulder in my rotors when i turned on that tire and it also engaged my abs braking system causing a malfunction. My axel bearing cost upwards of 160.00 bucks a piece and i would suggest replacing both sides cause if ones already going then it is only a matter of time before the other side goes too. Next I would check the u-joint and check for play or it could possibly a broken motor mount or trans mount. Hope this helps

My 2002 GMC 2500hd with an 8.1 eng has two history codes p0101 and p0700. How do I fix it?

if it's in the transmission other than ck'ing to see if you have proper level and quality fluid level in trans theres not much a homeowner can do your gonna need to find a good trans shop
1st try getting a fluid flush and fill this is a lower cost fix that sometimes works and you don't need to remove trans to do it

Clunk when coming to a stop

That clunking noise you get it whilst you are braking or just as you are coming. If it is whilst on breaking, check your rear brakes. if is whilst coming check for any suspension shocks, bushes.

97 ford ranger 4wd 4.0. Been to a trans man and 3 garages and no one can figure this out. When shifting park to reverse I have a big thump in te rear end and the body of my truck scrunches down. Won't...

Hi,
Does it do the same behavior when in 4WD LOW or 4WD High? If so, it's the transfer case or possible the front or rear differential.

Have you raised the back of the truck and had someone run the truck in place to verify the source of the noise ?

My 2007 has a weird jolt whenever I come to a stop. Sometimes if I stop a little hard and I keep the brake pressed, once I let it go it feels like if someone rear ended me. What could be the problem?

I have the same thing happening with my Suburban. I have found that the motion that you feel is the rear brake shoes releasing from the brake drum. The shoes will stick until the vehicle drives foreward and this will cause the shoes to release. Check your brakes and service them but it may not eliminate the sysmptom. I hope this helps.

My truck makes a loud thump from the front on the passenger side.

Most likely you have worn out suspension parts. A front shock could cause the problem because the rubber bushing holding it in place may have dried up and fell out. Upper and lower A-arms have rubber bushings as well.
Best to have the front suspension checked out before it gets worse.
