Question about 2004 Honda Accord

Air intake loud "humming" noise

On our 2003 Honda Accord we get a rather loud humming noise. Problem started a few months ago, did not happen before that. Dealer service can find nothing wrong with air filter, or throttle body, or any indicators. I took the air filter cover off, and the noise originates in the top of the cover, not the filter itself. If I disconnect the filter cover top from the throttle body, noise is gone. Reconnect and it returns. Like some sort of "harmonic resonance". Can hear it for about a second after engine is turned off.

Any ideas?

2002 Honda Accord makes loud exhaust sounding noise

The O2 sensor could have come loose, also look around the area of the O2 sensor for any cracks in the pipe, look for black coloring on the pipe, this will indicate the leak area. As exhaust smoke is blackish and will coat the leaking area.

Hi Josh,
It sounds like you may have a vacuum leak (possible intake gasket)I would take a can of carb clean and lightly spray around the area you hear the noise with the engine running, if the engine idle starts to rise up, you most likely have a vacuum leak. Let me know what you find Josh, thanks.

Hi,
Had a similar problem on my 06 accord, would recommend you check the air intake system. Loose parts tend to cause a whistle.
If your's is a diesel like mine, there is a plastic cover over the intake next to the radiator which can come loose.
Good Luck!

Car dies while driving, now it won't start sometimes

Could be a fuel pump that is going bad. Some times when fuel pumps go bad they cavitate and pump not just gas but also air. If you get too much air in the line and not enough gas the car won't start. Have a mechanic check your fuel line pressure.

90 Honda Accord will not crank or start. It has full power, checked fluids, pulled main relay and it looks fine. Starting to think it might be the starter but it was just replaced a few months ago.

you might want to check to see if it has fire if not it is probally the timming belt if it does have fire then you need to chek your fuel pump spray some strating fluid in the intake where the air filter is and if it starts then it probally your fuel pump

Humming noise under the hood

It could be the ABS. MY HONDA DOES THE SAME THING.
I took it to PepBoys yesterday and they could not connect to the
computer interface. They said I need to take it to a honda dealer
so they can connect and determine what is wrong with the
Automatic breaking system. The noise is the ABS motor
turning on and off.
