It has an "air cleaner" that lasts about 100,000 miles, there's a little clear plastic thing that you can see thru that's supposed to tell you when it needs changing. the price to replace it when it goes is like 150, they replace the whole intake. it's cheaper to put a different intake with a normal filter on it rather than replace the stock one, and you get better mpg and hp.

How good is the nissan 2005 altyima 2.5 i would like to purchase that car

Well the 3.5 is one of nissans best engines in my opinion but the 2.5 is good too.Nissans are usually very dependable as long as you do routine maintanance like oil changes every 3,000 miles change the spark plugs and plug wires like every 30,000 or so and change the fuel filter every 25,000-30,000 and change the air filter when it needs it which varies on the area you live in usually like every 15,000 miles or so.

Normal 20,000 mile service, what is done?

This service generally involves an oil and filter change , tire rotation
and a safety inspection. While changing the oil, the mechanic will be performing visual inspections of the brakes, belts and hoses inspecting for any fluid leaks,, listening for any abnormal noises, and paying attention to any irregularities in the operation of the vehicle.
If you have your service at the dealership, have them check and perform any recalls on the vehicle.
Possible Repairs Needed at the 20,000 Mile Service It's not uncommon for your vehicle to need a brake pad replacement at this mileage, and on some vehicles the tires may need replacement.

Recommendations
  • We recommend considering replacement of the air filter every year or 12,000 to 15,000 miles.
Why this happens
  • If oil has contaminated the air filter, it should be replaced. Oil contamination may indicate a problem with the PCV system.
  • Air filters will need replacement more often in vehicles driven in dusty and sandy areas.

What is the recommended service for 2004 chevy

Service your cooling system every 5 years or 150,000 miles. The GM Dex Cool has a life of 5 years or 150,000 miles which ever comes first. Replace the thermostat also and buy the fail safe thermostat, it cost a bit more but worth it.

Service the engine (spark plugs and wire) every 100,000 miles or till engine management prompt attention. (service engine light DTC code)

Service the transmission every 3 years or 60,000 miles, replace the transmission oil and filter. Transfer case fluid and differential fluid.

Service the engine oil and filter every 6 months or 3,000 miles. Lube Chassis

Service the air filter and cabin air filter, wiper blades every 15,000 miles or once a year.

Does my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee really need a tune-up as preventative maintenace at 39,000miles?

No it does not need a tune up in regards to spark plug wires and ignition related components at 39,000 miles, however air cleaners, and pcv valves should be replaced ever 10 - 15,000 miles. The primary Oxygen Sensor should be replaced at 60 to 80,000 mile intervals and the fuel filter done no later than 100,000 miles, hope this helps.

Sluggish on the take off

I would most certainly suspect the fuel filter first. This should be replaced atleast every 10,000 miles. Also check your air filter while your at it . If the problem continues I would then check spark plugs (replace every 15,000 miles), cap & rotor if equipped, and plug wires (replace about every 25,000 miles). It could also be a small vacuum leak.
